I see this as well, they're usually stacked on their backpack. Whenever I don a pin, it's one pin only, and worn on my jacket's lapel. Additionally, I don't always wear the pin, usually for more special occasions.
I believe that high quality soft felt hats of the period may have liners that have similar artistry....But you'd sure be hard-pressed to find a hat liner like that in late 30's-and-beyond hats. They're all white! I need a bright, pleated, embroidered royal purple liner in my hat!
Canadian, thank you for the kind words. I am always a little careful with engaging politically, and I now know you meant no discourse. Your analysis of the pin may be correct, and in that case I'll likely just ditch the pin in mixed company. No harm done.
I detected some dejection from Canadian, and I figured this thread would get political if I didn't try to immediately stay on topic. I understood his point, but didn't want this to become some vehement political discussion, which I like to avoid, in our current political climate. That's why I...
I think these might be it! Thank you very much. We were thinking we would be out of luck finding these at the button stores, and I would have to wait for a vintage set to show up on eBay. I can always rely on the Lounge!

Hope somebody knows!
I know of that resurgence. I was talking about the Golden Era, never seen such a specimen that Vintage Everyday showed from that period. To be frank, I'm not a fan of the look, it's like the jacket doesn't know what it wants to be.
Yes sir, online markets are the way to go. I find 30s ties in person sometimes, usually lower quality ones. Good luck on your search for excellent neckwear.
