This is why, no matter how "rude" it seems to sellers, I always ask for more detailed photos, if the originals are insufficient. I'm glad you got a refund on this baby. It looks gorgeous, without the bites it'd be a WINNER
Peeling back vintage sweatbands to unveil any manufacturer tags is like defusing a bomb. Still building up the courage to figure out how much my Stetson boater costed back in the day!
Some wicked hats on this thread. Here's my 40's Stratoliner, had to bring it out for the cool breeze on this late afternoon. I think I'm getting better at hat photos! Hope these turned out well, so I can demonstrate this hat at its best.
Agreed with what Fading Fast said, this photo is a prime example of quality 1940's tailoring. Too many 40's examples I see on the internet depict suits that are too flat, blocky, don't flatter the wearer's body... this gentleman's suit is timeless and fits him well.
I'm glad this thread exists...
W O W! You people need to stop reminding me that I'm in desperate need of a Borsalino...This hat has my favorite fedora proportions, the sweatband and felt both look rich--Wear this one in good health, Bowen. Amazing how many hats have stood up to 70+ years of time like it's nothing.
Thought I'd narrow down my tie collection. All these ties are from the 30's-50's. This is a splendid variety, but I find myself almost never wearing them. Thought I'd give 'em good homes! Let me know which tie you're interested in and shoot me a PM!

Yup. The other pieces don't fit all that bad, so they will still receive some wear as separates. Seriously wonder what the original owner looked like in this!
Here are more pics of the suit. It is indeed a high quality suit, and some nice details are present. However, the fit is a little wonky for me, mainly because of the built-up shoulders. How sad. I may try for a refund or sell it here on the Classifieds.
