From what I know about the offer you were given, I think I would just throw in the towel and go through on his offer. Desirable vintage hats in your size are few and far between. I say take the Champ, unless there's a turn-off I don't know about. You will seldom find other offers for vintage...
Might be the finest shoes I have ever laid eyes on. You really have fantastic taste in your footwear. What's the story on these shoes? Maker? Source of purchase?
EDIT: Silly me, you said Nunn-bush as the maker.
I stand corrected. I'm not a fan of the style, but it's good to see these weren't just limited to cheap clip-ons, the ones that plague the vintage bowtie scene on eBay and in brick and mortar shops.
This is an interesting one. Modern tie, but the colors and patterns all scream 30's. Definitely one of the coolest modern ties I've ever seen. Good find!
Not sure belt-shopping is hard, fella. Does it look cool? Get it. People don't really care about the hide quality, when it comes to belts. Jackets and shoes are a different story.
This. I don't understand why tailors/MTM programs are trying to coax customers to fall into the mainstream fads. Like I said in my thread about my first tailoring experience, you'd think those in this industry would be more introspective and understanding of more classic styling, or....what the...
If the black belt-back is considered a small, I have no chance fitting into the suit you plan on posting tomorrow. Nevertheless, I hope these suits go to a deserving home. The belt-back is a dreamer! Good luck with the sales, Benny.
Maybe a suit expert can correct me on this, but I don't think your suit's shoulders should be the exact same width as your natural shoulder length, for ease of mobility. A 17''-17.5'' shoulder would likely look and feel better.
I'm no expert in leather jackets, but something tells me your budget won't allocate a high quality jacket, new or vintage. I would save up to get a very nice jacket that'll keep you satisfied for a long time.
Truthfully, I think if it had a wider brim, it would be more likely to sell. That and the fact that it's too large prohibit me from indulging. This will sell, Justin, do not fret!
No information on the maker, but those are some fine sandals. Never heard of wooden heels, sounds rather bizarre. Maybe these will hold up better than rubber heels? Wear these with pride, Michael.
Eric, I've been waiting for you to share more vintage shoes! These are a cut above the rest...
Since you're much into bowlers, not only do I agree that vintage is the way to go, but consider getting a particularly old model, even an ANTIQUE. Some of the older bowlers were made with very impressive leather for sweatbands and absolute artworks of liners. A 40s/50s bowler will still be...
Even though you fellas likely drained my lifespan by 10 years, the Lounge has really made me re-consider what quality clothes are. It also greatly escalated my interest in vintage clothing and expressing it publicly, when I realized there was a dedicated community to golden era tailoring. Even...
