Very interesting history on the inspiration of the film. What a bizarre case. I had never considered the wardrobe being used as an instrument of demonstrating the power dynamic of the characters--Has Hitchcock actually discussed this about the movie? All I know is Loeb's allegorical...
Happy fourth Red, and a wonderful boater too. Interestingly, the liner and sweatband look more modern. Either way, a fitting choice for Independence Day. Have a good one--Wish I could represent my old Stetson boater today!
Montgomery Ward, Parkway Clothes, Hyde Park Clothes, Kingsridge, JC Penney, Brooks Brothers all produced great suits. Most of these, I think, were considered middle-of-the-road quality names at the time.
Yea, I messaged him on Instagram and he responded very quickly. Just not rich enough to purchase his high-quality stuff. Those who have purchased from him already are very lucky!
