You guys have lost me with the croc thing! But hey my original post was a request for pics of Tumbled brown hides and your opinion of them. Would also be nice to see how they age.
Thanks chaps
ps whats wrong with crocs any how? I'll happily don a pair in the right situation, hot day on the...
I love the process even find it strangely addictive! My reasons for considering the tumbled hide as suggested by Holly is the softness and easier wearing of the tumbled verses the stiffness of the regular. However, the downside of the tumbled is the loss of character I/we love/covet in the regular.
thanks guys, how can I not follow the wise words of schizo "tumbled is for fannies"! I think it was schitzo who also told me to "man-up" on another thread of mine. it's a bit of fun I know but you are quite right the regular brown is the way to go i'm sure. I shall never the less hang on for a...
Hi,
I am in need of your advice and more importantly pictures of your brown tumbled FQHH!
Yesterday i finalized my order with Holly for a brown FQHH Highwayman in a 36, budget tartan lining, corduroy strip along the hem and no internal pockets (as not recommended by Aero). However, i asked...
Thanks Fanch,Butte & High/man. I have decided to opt for Aero's standard black cotton lining, mainly cos I reckon it will be the coolest wearing (least warm) and I think will look quite smart.
cheers
Thanks once again for all your input. After much consideration I have decided to settle for the regular brown. As some of you have mentioned it is the most versatile colour in respect of matching up with other clothing. Also, seems to me to have the most character of all the colour options. Have...
Thanks guys, your jackets look amazing. I'm not quite clear though if I can wear jeans and in particular my brown chukas with the cordovan? I kind of think if the Cordovan is not too reddish and is more deep burgundy it would look ok? To be honest i'm not about to try and find a pair of cordovan...
Thanks guys, I am very impressed by the pics, the Cordovan looks fantastic. Not sure though that I am any the wiser as to what to go for! It has been suggested a dark brown may show some burgundy highlights, kind of best of both brown and cordovan.
I have not thought about what I would be...
Hi
Need some help..just put in my order for a new Highwayman in FQHH but cannot decide on the colour. I am familiar with Aero's regular brown but cannot find a great deal of info or pics for their cordovan. Can anyone help with a few pics/links so I can see for myself? What are the...
Thanks everyone for your comments. As Schitzo suggested I have "manned-up" and requested a new FQHH Highwayman from Aero in Cordovan.
I feel foolish having sold my old on (brown) but you live and learn. This time I will ask for slightly slimmer arms, last jacket arms were way big.
Thanks again...
Thanks for that, i wonder if thats the reason why that particular Aeromarine is so cheap (£700 odd for the revised model on Aero site) the fact its quite short i mean, shame looks good other wise. I have seen that jacket before, (i'm always looking at the size 36's) not too keen on black, got to...
Thanks for that, i think you are right up to a point, but would say that "generally" HH is heavier and certainly stiffer than steer/cow, steer is quite often thicker but softer/flexable and cow is almost always lighter, thinner and more flexable. Just a shame its the FQHH that seems to develop...
Hi
A few months ago a sold on my Aero FQHH Highwayman and used the funds to buy a Cirrus Lancaster jacket. I can hear the sighs of disbelief! I loved that Aero jacket to bits but i found it just too much, the weight and stiffness of the leather. It became unwearable for me. Don't get me wrong...
Hi and thanks for your comments, much appreciated. Sounds like goat might be the way to go. I'v always dismissed goat without much thought due to so many saying it still looks the same after 10-20 years of wear! May reconsider now.
Dr H, it's not so much the weight that bothers me as its not...
Hi all, after 3 difficult but wonderful years it is time for me and my Aero FQHH Highwayman to part company. I have had these thoughts before but kept on in the hope things would get better. I find I am making excuses now not to spend time with her, opting for my A2 instead. It's the weight you...
