Help with choosing a leather jacket

Hi, just been reading this thread and curious to know if Amanda went to AL from Aero? Always wandered what happened to her. Thought she was great when helping me buy my first Highwayman in 2010. Regrads Mark

AAArgh can't post pics, how do i do it??

Dejected, humillated, you name it I feel it. It has defeated me, cannot post pics!! :( Oh well. But my new Highwayman is fab. Brown (dark) FQHH, size 36, bit off the arms and body only. No storm cuffs or inside pocket (as Aero don't like-em), corduroy hem, MacKenzie Wethered Tartan lining...

Thanks all. The one thing I have not yet done is upload to photo bucket or the like. My pics are in the computer so to speak. Will try again. Part of the problem (my problem) is I do not understand the jargon! Here goes anyway...

Aero 1930s slim half belt versus the bootlegger??? help

Hi, this may or may not be helpful advice but why not buy the one you are tending to mostly lean to and then look out for the other one on Aero's sale page, ebay etc? However, I would definitely hang onto the Highwayman, such a classic. Mark

What style is this leather Jacket Similar too?

I never quite understand how you know when some one is trolling, spaming, not a real member (what ever that means). Why not give him the benefit of the doubt, have a little faith in people. Afraid I cannot help him/you with the question, don't know enough about leather jackets. Try Aero leathers...

    Waterproofing seams on a Barbour.

Put the tin of wax in a bowl of hot water and apply with a lint free cloth. Use a hair dryer to smooth out the wax and ensure it penatrates the jacket.

Cirrus Lancaster (Highwayman) leather jacket 36"

Hi Guys Please have a look at my jacket for sale on ebay. It's a nice jacket but just not getting any interest. Original price just shy of £700. It's on the Bay for £175! For a FL member i'd let it go for £150. That really is a steal for a pretty good jacket. The lining cost me £66! Thanks...

my first pair of selfedge jeans

yes i'd rather support the small business too. Talking of small business check out Sou'West Chunkies. They are a small cottage industry based in Cornwall that produce wool from local sheep to produce really lovely jumpers at a price you'll find haed to believe. I think they make them on old...

my first pair of selfedge jeans

thanks Mattface and Regent, useful and interesting feed back. The only real advantage it seems to me in owning a pair of salvage jeans (i'm not bothered about the historical links) is they last longer and perhaps develop some kinda patina. I doubt this will stop me from buying regular high...

my first pair of selfedge jeans

Hi, having read lots of stuff here on the Lounge about Selfedge jeans (have i spelt that right and what does the term mean anyway?) i thought i'd see what all the fuss was about. I won a pair on the Bay, Albam jeans, 12oz i think (again not sure what that actually refers to?). I don't think they...

    Help..brown or tumbled?

Thanks your comments and link much appreciated. I am likely as not going to go for regular brown. It simply seems to get the most votes from you guys. I have not seen many examples of the tumbled/vintage hide and the ones I have look fine but not quite as impressive as the regular.

    Help..brown or tumbled?

yes, an inside pocket will eventually show through particularly if you regularly put stuff in it (not my opinion rather Holly's/Aero's) The corduroy is simply a bit lighter than a piece of leather, I requested corduroy rather than leather,
