Yes...Sazerac is a great Rye...but I prefer it as a highball with bitters. It's a bit too spicy (to my taste) for a Manhattan. I use Old Overholt Rye Whiskey for that.
"The Lonely Werewolf Girl" by Martin Millar. It's totally viral. Impossible to put down. When I gave it to my girlfriend, she took a day off work to finish reading it....
That looks like a Borsalino roll-up. I have a couple. The liner looks right and the sweatband shouldn't have any plastic wire support. (I know there's a name for that, but I can't think of it.)
I also have a spare triangular "coffin" box that they came in from Borsalino. PM me if you want it.
That's an interesting old Stetson, Dinerman. It looks well-loved. The block looks very squared off...I'll be interested to see what kind of bash it takes.
Fair enough and well spoken. I would have to admit that, when it comes to musical instruments, I have my own obsessive approach. This leads to my playing sounding better, so I don't mind it.
I suppose you could say that an obsession with hat details leads to a person looking better and...
That sounds like a good hat.
I don't mean to fault MK or Hatco for "sweating" the details, but I've been wearing fedoras for almost 40 years now and, in all that time, no one has ever asked me what shade of brown my sweatband is or what color my liner is. I'm much more concerned with the...
Not to be the voice of dissent here, but...I rather like the look of MK's Nostalgia. It has a nice, crisp look to it.
And, speaking of edge binding, I have a Dobbs from the 20s (I think) that has the edge bound with grosgrain that is 1/4" on the underside and 1/2" on the top....??? How'd they...
I wouldn't buy the stock version you first got, but the one they tweaked for you is very good and I would buy that...
...except that I've promised myself not to buy any more grey hats!
Art: the best advice I ever got concerning Doctors and more complicated "procedures" is that you should always have someone with you that you trust when a doctor discusses the problem and possible tests and solutions. When you're distressed and uncomfortable it's hard to make decisions and pay...
Art;
It's so nice that you posted this explanation. I think most everyone, knowing these facts, would agree that taking it easy for a bit and not worrying about schedules is important for you to do.
They're only hats. I certainly have plenty to wear. Get better.
Great article, glad you bumped it! My dad always said "when you look good, you act better". I don't know if that's true in all cases, but it helps.
Besides homicide detectives, you will find a lot of fedora wearers among ukulele players here in Boston...at a cabaret-style show I put on each...
Martin Millar's "Lonely Werewolf Girl". He's from Scotland and this is his latest novel. It's absolutely viral. It's the type of novel that forces you take a day off work to finish it.
While this isn't exactly "today"...it IS a photo of me in one of my favorite lids: a Borsalino Pesca. I performed at a Gatsby Summer Afternoon in California. (I can't figure out where the dickens I was looking....)
MDPhoto: I think taking a crack at a complete refurbishing is a wonderful idea...and could prove to be a great learning experience. Even if all you learned was that you'd rather have someone else do it in the future! It looks like a great hat to work with. Good luck.
