Just pried this Thurston Bros/Aero Ridley out of ksozay. In the dark seal Vicenza. Love the style. Something different outside my usual cafe racer look. Didn't think I'd like the Locharron wool lining, but the extra warmth is working out perfectly for these cold and rainy winter days in the city.
Love the story behind this blue padded Bates. Just gives it that much more gravitas- as if it wasn't cool enough already. Those early Bates racing jackets were the real deal...built for racers, steeped in lore, soaked in dust, sweat and oil. Just can't fake that kind of weathered look- the...
Offering a vintage Levis Type 3 steerhide jacket. It is an earlier and rarer “Shorthorn” label jacket made by Levis. Dark dark brown. Leather is super supple, and has a gorgeous patina, developing subtle lighter brown highlights. Lining is solid. Features an interior pocket. Size 42 but please...
Based on the photos, the Sheene looks like the best fitting jacket of the bunch. I'm with the majority- keep them all! Each one has a unique feel and look. But if you have to make a choice, keep the Sheene!
Thanks for the info! Nice to have that confirmation- there was a lot of speculation. The horsehide on this jacket is beautiful! Just a clean, minimalist classic design in a rare larger size. And still available.
Love to see it go to a good home! But if you're the same size, it might be a tad loose on you too. But feel free to PM me if you're still interested need more info. BTW How's that Triumph Bobber working out?
True. Except on my last Sheene, I asked Aero to add a waist band and buckles. My intention was to get the tight fit of a Sheene, and the look of a Highwayman. Except for the blackened Vicenza color, it's very similar looking to the S&S Vanishing jacket.
Just thought I'd run this by the folks here on FDL - offering a rare vintage Harley Sportster "One Pocket" cafe racer jacket. I currently have this one up on ebay, but willing to sell at a discount to FDL members.
These early Harley Sportsters are thought to be horsehide, but Harley never...
I had one, but I sold it a while back...beautiful jacket and beautiful leather. Super heavy and thick. Some of the thickest hide I've worn. Sadly, it just didn't fit me quite right and had to let it go.
Love the end result! That back looks super clean...definitely a good choice in eliminating the kidney belt and going with a yoke.
I can't find any mention of the leather you decided to use...did I miss it, or did you not include it?
What a beautiful color! Right on with the contrasting brown tape, and red lining. Brilliant combo!
I bet you're going to get a lot of looks in that jacket. (I always notice that when I wear any of my blue jackets, they just seem to attract the most attention.)
