I went to the Garland Outlet twice in the past two months and was disappointed. If you love cowboy hats, you have a good selection. But I hardly found anything in a 7 3/8 and what I did find was pretty cheap looking. But I have heard others have good success.
Just received my earliest Borsalino Trionfo 2 1/2 inch brim. White tag indicates made between 1936-1953. I think I have a new favorite and my size 7 3/8 perfect fit at that.
I saw that a few days ago for a really great price. In my investigation, I saw in an add in Japan with the same label but with Borsalino written where Seyata is on this liner. It looked like it was made for the Orthodox Jews. So it appears this is a Borsalino from what I could find.
Thanks for this information. That helps explain the look that seems a bit different than most. I wonder how they got the edges to lay flat. Also, the one you picked up is very nice.

I keep seeing you guys with vintage Borsalinos with white tags with Borsalino written across the tag indicating from the years 1936-1953 and I kept wondering where you find them. Tonight one popped up on auction just as I was looking, so I bought it. Here are some photos.

The Ebay seller ignored my request for a return the hat after I explained the hat is not as described and included 4 photos where moths had bit into the felt that was not described. Then the guy blocked me from writing him. But thankfully Ebay saw the photos and voted n my favor for a return and...
I wanted a Panama hat, so saw the sale at JJ Hat Center and picked up a Pessaro grade 8, retails at $225 on sale at $112. But since the photo did not include a straight on view, I didn't realize it was quite tapered, not my style. So I bought an Optimo style at Levines Hat Co. on sale at $83. It...
