Jiffy Steamer sells cleansing solution for their hat steamers, but seems over priced. Can you just use vinegar and water to descale instead of spending lots of money on their product?
Do you still have this color fir custom order? I looked at your web site, but didn't see this option for color. Also, regarding your different models to choose from, does it mainly have to do with height of crown and brim size? Thanks.
Recently picked up this vintage 3" wide brim Borsalino. Couldn't find the typical white label, but there are two labels under the sweat band. Any of you experts have any idea about when it may have been made? Thanks.
John, I have a Stetson with the same lining three dogs with Stetson Whippet written . The tag says Zenith. I never found out as to why it has a Whippet liner.
Ebay purchase from Randall. Nice Stetson late 50s - early 60s Whippet style. Beautiful hat in pristine condition. I am mostly a vintage Borsalino guy, but this lid is pretty much as nice as my vintage Borsas.
Yes, I have one like that . Whippet in on the liner, but it is no where like a Whippet. It's a sturdy hat. It's the one on my profile photo here. I bought it when I first started collecting and didn't know better. It was sold as a Whippet for $100--lol.
But if all else is the same, then usually one has to pay dearly for that Whippet logo compared to not having the logo. I was told by a Fedora Lounge brother that Stetson didn't mark as Whippet on hats from around mid 50s to early 60s and that these are called Whippet clones. Ever heard this?
