Thank you, Steve. I'm glad I got the Tirard. Certainly the surprise hat this last weeks. Thanks Stefan. Thought the scarf would appeal to you
Another great hat week from you this Sunday. The Tirard is one nice stand out hat!
Now that you mention it, yes. Forgot all about that.Hi, Stefan! You probably remember, but it was a floppy Loro Piana 100% beaver woman's hat. I took it to Ignacio to be reblocked and reshaped, and it was so floppy that he had to stiffen the felt, specially on the brim. I asked him to add as little stiffener as possible to keep the new shape, because I really liked the feel of the felt. He sighed, shook his head, and did as I asked.
We added a leather sweatband, too.

Magnificent!
That is some true resurrection work there, Terry. Wonderful job!I retired this poor abused hat from a crushed up and badly sweat and dirt stained 3X Beaver Quality Western work hat and converted it to a naturally distressed three ply thin ribbon fedora. I was able to reuse the three ply ribbon but I wasn't so lucky in trying to salvage the original brim binding. It deteriorated as I was trying to remove it to reuse. The original sweat was toast too, and the liner was missing. The hat looked to be '50s era. It's been cleaned up, reblocked and sized up.

On the head:
Naturally distressed and aged and still showing the faint shadow of sweat stains
The open crown is 5 3/4 tall and is creased to a teardrop.
As creased, the crown is tall and straight with an over all height of 5 inches and 4 5/8 at the pinch with a rake sloping to 4 1/4 to the back.
The snap brim is 2 5/8 wide. For now it's a raw edge until I sew another ribbon on it for a thin bound edge like the original.

Others consider "Rock Awhile" (1949) to be the first rock and roll song.
Thanks, Joe. I have Brent @deadlyhandsome to thank for that one. It is a gorgeous hat. What a wonderful parade this week Stefan. That Mallory is fabulous!
Excellent hats on display as usual, Eric.Good morning. This mornings dog soirre in a Stetson Vogue was delightful in the winter sun.
Home and enjoying a walkabout while sipping coffee. A VS (Stratoliner inspired sage beaver felt) fedora was my hat choice.
Best to all. Thanks for sharing your hats.
Cheers, Eric -
Wonderful crease on that one.

Magnificent! I don’t recall seeing a non-western 7X. The shape, colors…everything just make this a special hat.
