    Homburg Nation

Premiere Knox homburg from Stix Baer & Fuller shop, dated 1/18/46 (dated by receipt) . This one serves me very well, the wool felt feels amazing. However, this could honestly also be worn over the summer. Sorry for the poor pictures, lighting here ain't great

The Thread to Display Your 1940s Suits

I didn't even know that was possible. Worth a shot to find out though. Thanks for the compliment

Why the change from natural waist?

I agree. I think the high waisted trousers look more masculine and less sloppy than the extremely low rise. Unfortunately these are hard to come by among the contemporary market

The chase for a suit; should I even bother?

The feedback received in this thread has been most helpful. Though I have obtained this suit recently (also posted about it in the "The Thread to Display Your 1940s Suits" thread), the search still continues for the intent of having at least a few suits that I can utilize in rotation. I...

Obtained from ebay for $30, thanks for asking. It's a lovely piece, and for some reason i really like the Joe Tanzer's shop tag logo. Very comfortable and breathable coat.

The Thread to Display Your 1940s Suits

Late 40s light blue DB suit. I just wish the trousers had cuffs. Labeled "Spoo & Son". Anyone have information on this tailor?

That sounds like a gold mine for the few Vintage enthusiasts i imagine. Do you think there was hardly a market because people at the time were very focused on wearing what was currently vogue? And what do you mean by "radical" college students?

How easy was it to find 1900-40s clothing at the time?

Getting warmer. Other than their loop tags, these look easily vintage. I love the green one! If you want more ideas on repeating patterns of the golden era, observe clothing catalogs, ads, and pictures. Check out eBay and etsy too, striking gold at goodwill is unheard of (for me, at least).

Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

Update: the hat has arrived, and unfortunately the hat does not suit my face. It is also a tad bit big, would you believe it? What a shame, this hat is a quality piece for sure. Oh well, hopefully Miami will accept a return.

    h-e-l-p. Palm beach linen suit..

A wonderful suit was sold for $530 today. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F152786239027 Shame... I was drooling over this one. You and me are in the same boat, finding a nice 36-38R is strenuous. I'm no help, but keep me updated on your progress.

Looks like a miss, in my opinion. I looked up the name on the label. What initially caught my eye was that the label hardly looked dated. Appears to me that this Florenzi tie cannot be a day older than the 70s. As for not receiving compliments, here's my perspective. The tie isn't very...
