Thanks! This has to be my favorite tie of all the ones I own. Goes well with this sweet 1940's black double breasted sports coat I also picked up recently. The end result is a vibrant jazzy/swing look, because the understated tone of the jacket pairs well with the loud color.

Pretty sure the OP implied he now possesses the hat. This is interesting to me, because most bowlers and derbys I see are black or gray. I'm no expert in dating these hats, they always all looked the same to me ;)
On mobile, it won't let me send photos, because the file sizes are supposedly too large. The hat is the same one I posted about in the eBay thread, the one that's my first Vintage. This is a quality piece, for sure. It's a charcoal gray in most lighting, but it's not dark enough for black tie...
Awesome hats, thanks for sharing. I especially like the off-white one. Do you know much about Knox hats, by the way? My beloved Homburg is a Knox, and I'm not familiar with the reputation and quality of this hatmaker.
When did the cheaply made, short brimmed, low crowned, "fedora" people today have come to known become popular? I've seen movies from the late 50s that portray few characters sporting these trillbies. Personally, I just think this style of hat is horrible and isn't true to what the fedora used...
Good to know. I may consider this for future black tie events. I have a navy Homburg, and I always wear it casually, because I just see it as an informal, versatile hat.
As of now, I own only two suits, both of which were my grandfather's. One is Brooks Brothers (unknown date, likely 80s) and the other is an Anderson & Sheppard 3-piece from 1985. I have a couple nice sports coats, and have recently ordered more.

I was intrigued by these, even though they're not my size. Perhaps someone on here will pull the trigger?
Members familiar with Dallas, TX, I need your help! With so many thrift stores here, it's very difficult to weed out the ones that are flooded with 20-year-old garbage. Since I'm vacationing here, I would love to be exposed to stores known for selling Golden Age clothing, if any.
