Brah, you have so much style when it comes to jeans! It’s a joy to see how alive this thread feels. Reading this thread makes me want to buy more jeans to explore, and I’ve been a denimhead for 15 years. I just haven’t bought jeans in years.

Thanks for the love, though I admit I have more than I realistically should. I'm not really into acquiring "sick fades" so everything gets worn in regular rotation. I'm more interested in colors, textures, construction details, and/or backstories. I've broken things out between domestic and Japanese brands, so here's two pics.

Nice! I have the same Civilinaire pair in Red. I’ve also tried Levi’s, RRL, N&F, Stronghold, and Soso. Before that, I owned a lot of 7 for All Mankind and True Religion.

I went to Self Edge and tried on various denims. The one that spoke to me the most was SDA D1712, due to my preference for the 7” or lower hem opening. Ever since, I’ve been on the binge of SDA’s various fabrics in the same cut.

I still want to try IH 21oz (too expensive), Samurai 25oz, and Oni secret denim (haven’t gotten around to it, I own too many jeans). I’m really into heavyweight denim, which was where I stopped my denim craze. This thread is reviving that passion!

FWIW, I don’t think 12+1 pairs is a lot of denim if you wear them all. I’m still into fades so I try to focus on just 1 pair, at most 2, to work on and wear continuously. The number of jeans I own is in the 2 digits, I don’t keep count.

I started my journey with N&F and have more recently focused on Japanese brands. My heaviest pairs are the N&F Elephant 5 and IH 824, both at 21oz. The IH are woven pretty tight and feel darn near ****** proof, so at present I don't have a desire to seek out anything heavier. The only exception would be if I could snag a pair of N&F King of Lords, which I think was 25oz. That's a grail piece for me, but it's pretty much unobtanium. I think I've only ever seen two or three pairs come up for sale on the second-hand market, and none were in my size.

Nah, man. Share what you wear every day, when you feel like it. I wouldn’t have noticed the jeans if not for your killer style—the jeans + shoes combos! I actually thought you had a lot more jeans than just 12 pairs.

Let’s say you have 12 plants and you want to share them via photos. The plants may themselves be somewhat interesting but it’s actually the views/perspectives of each photo that are interesting to the viewers. You’re not done when you share one/two photos of 12 plants together. It’s the angle of each shot, of each plant, that incorporates the background into the shot that gives it life, to make it lively and feeling alive.

SDA is obscenely cheap on the JP second hand market (like <$60-$80, sometimes a lot less), don’t hold back to get several pairs if any fabrics interest you.

Naked and famous “strong guy”. I altered the basic wide leg jean to fit more like the original US Navy dungaree, Hemmed to a 32” inseam as well. Happy with the result. Have a black pair on the way. Sorry for the feet.

Tailoring my stuff is about all I can do but it’s nice taking something and changing it to fit your needs. 1/2” out of each outer side seam from the hip to the knee did the trick and it’s totally undetectable!
