I love these junk jackets from the 70’s. They are like little ceasers pizza: dirt cheap, questionable quality at best…still tastes pretty damn good though. This is more muted than the last pic. Really it’s more tomato soup rather than cherry red.

Getting one more day out of it. Added some chest snaps to keep the flimsy flaps in place.

So here is late 40s early 50s All Weather ½ Belt. The Talon zipper with older metal pull and brass teeth, chest zip pocket is different than most and the stitching on label makes me lean 47-49. But who knows. The Jacket is for runner to 1950s model and it supposedly inspired lost worlds Seirra https://lostworldsinc.com/Sierra_Horsehide_Leather_Motorcycle_Jacket.html

But I don’t think they look much alike.

So here is the rub. The lining is shot. Especially around the collar and sleeves so it is virtually unwearable. I am going to replace the lining and have been researching options as I don’t want to go back to quilted. So any pics of 1940s vintage would be appreciated. Here are some interesting linings from my 1940 Custom Officer (Green Pattern with repair) and my 1930 ½ belt (plaid pattern and in excellent condition) but I think all the All Weather and Sierra’s only had plain rayon?? Really would like something more interesting than brown cotton or rayon but need to at least stay true to the jacket. Any help appreciated.

Stuart is wrong, All Weather jackets were made in San Francisco by Leather Garment Co.

Sierra jackets were made in Los Angeles by Silton Brothers.
