What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

Wearing my nemesis today… finally finished this cafe/J-100 mash up in 3.5-4oz CXL steer hide. I’ve always been interested in this hide, I’ve only had experience handling CXLFQHH. Color is burgundy and is really beautiful. Im very glad that I built a little extra room into this one as it is an absolute unwieldy beast of a jacket. This one took me twice as long to complete because getting these seams to lay flat was a workout. I have a new found respect for those who regularly use this weight of hide to make jackets. I feel like a spent a week getting my ass kicked by ninjas. Not cartoon ninjas, but the real ones. Do I want to make another CXL jacket? No thank you. My sewing machine is still weeping and giving me the side eye. Turned out alright though!

You did well. Glad to see more people given it a go in jacket building. Back on the day, there were many of us. In the US, very few remain or up to the challenge. I am retired living my dream. Good for you and please keep it up.

Wore both Vanson C2 and Enfield as leather weather has truly arrived in coastal Florida. Could not resist a little side by side photo opportunity.

I'll post here to(did not go out with it) :)
I got this vintage-ish CHP jacket from a Swedish vintage site today, I bought it without knowing the measurements but the price was low enough to roll the dice :D I'm rather shuffed with how it fits(the arms could be a bit longer, but the rest looks good in my eyes).

Cheers!

You did real good there! I like the fit and while the arms could be longer it’s not an issue in my opinion. Very nice! do you know who the maker is and what animal it’s made from?

Yeah I'm not that fuzzed about arm length either, only thing I can't stand is to long arms getting in the way :)

It's cowhide and made by Crocker(Carlings, MQ and similar stores sell/used to sell them I think) but it's a lot heavier than what I see in stores today :)

My first real post on the WJAYWT thread. I've been in SE Asia since July and there's just not much need for jackets here.

The dermatologist recently told me that I have to start staying out of the sun or else use at least SPF 50 sunblock. So today I'm going to try out my new selvedge trousers and jacket from Nama Denim here in Bangkok. The jacket is Nama's version of the Levis 1880 triple-blouse.

I visited Nama two days ago and posted a review of their work here:
https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/introducing-nama-denim-bangkok.117459/

This photo was taken two days ago but I won't be able to get a better photo by myself and I'm going with the same basic look today. I'm heading to Siam Square (high end shopping area in Bangkok) where I expect to be mostly indoors so hopefully this getup won't be intolerably hot.

Greetings to all from the land of smiles.
