Sears Fieldmaster. The Fieldmaster and Oakbrook label are two I try and avoid from Sears. They mark the end of the golden era HH Hercules jackets and the beginning of cost costing and inferior quality. That said, I do like this one. It’s light, stiff steerhide that exemplifies exactly what I’ve referenced above. The jacket has a nice fit though and is super easy to wear. It’s unexceptional in every way imaginable but it seems my tastes these days are leaning in that direction.

It’s remarkable in its crinklyness. Cool look.
After seeing a few members posting theirs Vanson C2s, I was in awe of how good they looked, thus wanting one myself. It took some time, and there was no urge, but I found one on Buyee jp. It was the right size, the price was interesting too, and I loved the fact that it was well worn. One funny thing is the way the different panels wear. Some show a brown color under the black top coat, and some show grey.
I've been wearing it everyday for more than a month now, and it feels like I had it all my life. Anyway, it's become one of my favorites.

Suburban cold temp test. Mid teens. Layered with thin cotton turtleneck and an Eddie Bauer CirrusLite Down Jacket, which makes a perfect super thin down liner. Toasty warm and comfortable for walking. Dog is wearing his new Airy Vest Dog Winter Coat. Normally I don’t put him in smart little outfits but he just got a hair cut.
