Fresh find... Just picked this custom Cal Leather horsehide jacket this morning at the flea market. Size 42-44. Nice long sleeves. Not sure if I'm keeping it or not, (already have one in the same style) but I couldn't say no...Hopeless addict. ;-(

Very well done.
You always wear your jackets with real style. I do not believe I have seen you not wear a jacket exceptionally well.
For real!!

Wow, nice. Octagon leather? How is that - how close to comp weight thickness?

Thanks. I really like the look and feel of Vanson's XL and Octagon leathers. IMO, more variance in the break-in, more personality sooner than CW. Stiff as a board when new. I recall more so than the CW jackets I own, but more quickly loosens and molds to the wearer. I look at it as Vanson's version of CXL. That said, to ride I prefer the more armor-like qualities of CW.

Not as thick as the best 3.5+ oz CW but plenty thick at around 3 oz.

Somewhat cooler temps today allowed me to wear my new vintage Excelled horsehide - definitely the shortest I’d ever want to go - but the length is perfect when zipped and sitting in a car or on a motorcycle - no extra leather to bunch up.

This is such a classic Excelled horsehide! This thick, glazed smooth leather. It's probably supplied by Conceria Tris in Italy, whom also supplies to Schott. I currently have a cross zip made from it. Needs a Johnson re-line.

That is a nice one! I did like the fit. I sold mine, can't remember where it went.
