I agree with the comments above about the LHB in brown. I've had one for six years, and it has become my one and only. One word of caution I'd give is that you should stress to Aero that you may want to layer underneath it. Mine is really a perfect fit, but anything more than a sweater of...
For how long were you wearing it? I've always found that when I first put mine on it feels a bit stiff, but after a short time loosens up to where I don't notice it at all. Once your body temp warms up the leather it just relaxes. It's always going to feel like a leather jacket, but that's why I...
On my last trip to Greece a fellow told me that English is a required course in Greek schools starting at the earliest levels. Great people and a lovely country. And it has Thedi Leathers. SJ's jacket is a beautiful example of the work done there. That tan Bootlegger-type jacket tears at my...
I'd like to apologize for not having yet posted pics of my new Alley Kat. Much to do at work (end of the semester) and I'm trying to coordinate things with my kid who's going to give me a hand with it. Hopefully tomorrow. Thanks for your patience.
My ship has come in! I just came in the door from work and asked my son if anything had arrived. He replied,"I don't think so," and then came into my study and said "Is this for you?," handing me the box. Funny boy. What can I say? The fit is uncannily perfect - just glides right down and...
I don't know about about naming hats. I'm so bad at coming up with names for things that my poor cat has gone for eight years with the title "Cat." Sarsaparilla's right out: I've got enough image problems. "Tobacco Road?" That would suit my life-style and is also one of my favorite songs...
I also just noticed your buddy there behind the table. He's either considering a future in alcoholism or your straw as a food source. Either way, he bears watching. Btw, I visited your city a few years back and really admired it. Cheers.
I've got two coming in next week, a felt and a straw, both custom jobs. It's probably a good thing I'm a size 63 and therefore can't find anything on ebay or Etsy. I guess I'm slowly getting there: I started out with one six years ago and am now up to about eighteen. God knows what I'd have if I...
I didn't realize this was old thread until just now: I was going to alert the OP to Art Fawcett's Milans, of which I have two, and then I saw the comments and photo above. As far as I know, Art's the only maker using the real Milan straw. I haven't seen anything else that even comes close to it...
LOL. That's the last best thing about them - you can dunk it in cold water and plop it on your head. I like to go fishing down in the Keys, and for a good part of the year the sun's pretty brutal. The Sunbody's like survival gear. Besides, it floats nicely when it gets blown off into the water.
That's really looking good. They're pretty easy to work with once you get the hang of it, and you get the feeling of customizing your hat. They don't "break in" the way a felt does, though: it's more like, over time, the hat finally gets the shape you wanted for it. I spoke with them yesterday...
Bolthead, I can't thank you enough. This so far exceeds my expectations that I'm truly speechless. I swear that Tim has some kind of sixth sense in divining exactly what I was after, as I know I was never eloquent enough when I was speaking to him to have described that beauty appearing above...
