Haven't seen any at markets here in Miami, probably because there are fewer Mexicans here. As for dress shoes, I just picked up two new woven styles from Allen Edmonds, the Shreveports and the Leiden Weaves, both of which are now on sale. They're really perfect for a tropical city like Miami and...
A couple of years ago I became interested in huaraches but was surprised to find so few on either the bay or on Amazon. The ones you do see seem to range from about $40-50 a pair, and then very little before you get to $125-150 a pair. I opted for the cheaper ones with the idea that they're...
I just came home from a trip and must say that the pocket configuration on my LHB makes the jacket indispensable to me for traveling. What with the security checks, car rentals, hotel info and keys, and all the other factors that go into making modern travel such a pleasure, I'd be lost without...
That's something I haven't thought of in a while. When I was growing up in the '50's and '60's we had beautiful, soft corduroys we wore all winter. Then, in the early '70's I noticed these incredibly cheap, thin, obviously inferior corduroys in all the shops: as I remember, Levi's were one of...
Everybody's a critic. Stick with it, though, and pretty soon people will just get used to you as a guy who wears a hat. You'll also get so used to it you won't be able to go out without one.
Im in the process of ordering a pair of the above and just noticed that they only come in a "G" width. My size is 8.5 US with a "B" width, so for these British-made boots I order 7.5. Would ordering a half-size down solve the problem? A couple of sites I looked at suggested this, but I'm worried...
I've done a lot of business through them and never had a problem. In fact, I'm often impressed with the speed of the shipping, the packaging, etc. The "store" owners are necessarily very conscious of their good names. Ordering is also very easy. Too easy.
Good point. It's not something we often take into account, but sitting at the machine seven or eight hours a day, five days a week, must take its toll on the eyes, the fingers, etc. How people like Julie at Aero manage to pull it off as beautifully as they do is really impressive.
Have you checked out the striped sailor shirts? The most comfortable ones I've found are the Armorlux (French). I have about ten of them now and, beside some vintage shirts and a few linens, they're all I wear this time of year (yesterday it was 98' here). They look great under leather jackets, too.
I just saw it today after seeing the above. Seems to me to need a larger brim, but what I found out with my last deal with them is that they're extremely accommodating with requests. Always nice to find out.
One of the best things about their hats is that you can hold them under a faucet and shape them any way you like. If you look on the website you'll see where they discuss the shaping process. We've also talked about it not too long ago on the Sunbody thread. Check out Zombie's recent pics.
