Been following the conversation and it's crazy how knowledgeable you guys are. Any thoughts on my Williams & Co. hat as far as age? I finally have a bit larger pics to offer.
Oh, I got sidetracked.
We stopped by the store a few days ago and the boy at the checkout said, "Nice hat, by the way."
A minute later, a woman came up behind us and shared, with an admiring look at my hat, "Wow. That's a really sharp hat. I wish I could get my husband to wear hats like that."...
Yes, bad manners there.
I went to a close friend's funeral and left my hat in the car. One younger guy who was also attending actually looked at my pea coat with suit and tie in disgust, like I was showing off or something. I mean, really. He was in his usual t-shirt and jeans for a...
Just got this Knox Superfine (have not brushed the dust off yet).
It has a plastic crown protector. I'm thinking '60s.
Black sweatband.
7 3/8
Originally $12.95. I think I had an old '60s Dobbs that sold for $13 or thereabouts.

Nice hats, all.
Andy, nice suit.
Steve, now that's a great lid.
AnA, great combo. I wish I could dress like that for work but I traded in my Photoshop and mac for a riding lawnmower (not literally, of course).
Thanx, man. I had it restored in the early nineties. It had no liner, tags or sweat so I really don't know how old it is. 60s could be a good bet. The crown used to be more of a telescope shape and the brim was 1/4 to 1/2" wider at least.
The new sweat is custom fit to my 7 3/8 size so it fits...
Temps are a little higher today. Good day to do some gutter cleaning but I'm going to check out a new thrift store first. Hope I find some cool stuff. I've given up on hats in these places but snap western shirts and winter jackets...hope to come home with something.
My dad's old restored western.
HatsRme,
...(This may NOT be the best hat ever, but a find, for sure... ) Waiting on my doorstep this afternoon, a Stetson 3X Open Road,...
Great score on the Open Road and it looks to be in super good shape. Wear it well.
Memphis, I liked your Buckaroo so much that I reshaped a western of mine to resemble your brim. I think it looks good on ya.
I threw my hat on last night but then I changed my mind because I was going out in the city and the sun was already down. So I switched to a more appropriate stingy...
Thanx men. My wife said it looks more elegant....what does that mean? How about Rugged, or Manlike? Anyhoo, I'll have to ask my dad if he remembers what brand the hat is or how old it is. He's 80 in a few weeks. Still makes hay for his cattle, among other farm and ranch duties too numerous to...
