Memphis, Your Buckaroo hat made me think of my Dad's old hat that I had restored. Your brim looks to have so much life to it. My old hat's brim seems so lifeless and therefore I don't wear it that much.
Old shape.
New brim shape with more "life" to it.
A bit of a camera distortion...
Memphis, looks like a very neat hat. Always nice to have something new and custom to top it off. You look like you could go uptown or out to the country without changing hats.
OK. I see the look you wanted. Hiyohh, Silver!!
Yes a 7 3/8 would be a couple sizes too big for ya so stuffing would not attain the fit of a hat that you need while chasing outlaws.
As far as stretching. There is plenty on the subject here in the FL ... I personally have two hat stretchers. The...
Honestly, Blackjack. I would have liked to see you retain a bit of the brim's width but overall I like the crown and the scale of the ribbon. Maybe a tan ribbon would go with more outfits IMHO.
Whoa, Richard. No man in gray look for you with that lid. Is that your closet? .....nice. Eager to see you throw an outfit together with that hat. I'm sure it will be great.
I showed my 80 yr. old dad my Stetson Twenty-Five Open Road today and he asked if I could have just bought one at the mall.
I said that I didn't think the mall was built yet back in the '50s.
He then stated that his brother (who would be close to 100 if he was still with us) used to have one...
I just googled that brand and your hat popped up....looks like it sold on Etsy. It honestly didn't look '60s judging from the liner pic. I estimate it to be a newer hat...maybe even wool--which you don't want anyway.
I know you want to look great for the party but you should take your time...
Charlie, I enjoyed the fall pics.
We went to Colorado recently and the Aspens were so pretty with their yellow leaves shimmering in the sun. The leaves at my house are good for bagging up and hauling to the dumps.
Nice pics Che, I used to cultivate corn with an H that looked a lot like that. I could have sat on that thing backwards for how much I looked back to see if I was riding to closely to the young stalks.
AnA, cool racing pics.
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, John. You are right on the money.
As to the WTB, Not sure why the search is so "desperate".....Most of the hats on ebay are 7 1/8. Just did a quick look....you have your pick of hats.
Like I said, the shape in the pics was to show a different shape. Normally it has more of a western looking crease.
The brim also snaps up all the way around if that's what you described.
I used to wear hats on Halloween too because I loved the style and not because I wanted to make fun of anyone.
I understand you want a western type of hat that you can wear while you're out in the country or just trying to look like you have true grit on Halloween.
I have an old Stetson that...
I wouldn't recognize that hat in the illustration but I do like my old ads since my degree is in commercial art. The one I handled was really well preserved and had a soft, velour-like felt. I almost bought it but I'm getting tired of stretching hats (and boy are my arms tired).
I saw this photo in a gallery but wasn't sure of the authenticity...I searched the web for it and found this on someone's web page. Reminded me of the movie group.
T Jones. That thin ribbon gives you less of an Indiana clone look. I like that look for a nice Saturday.
Manfred, that cap is at home on you.
David, all your hard work will pay off (I got that from a fortune cookie).
I must go mow grass for likely the last time or two this season. It is getting...
Also, neat to see a couple of babies have been born recently on the Lounge (or nearby) and it makes me think about how lucky we all are to be alive and doing our own things that make us happy... I spent a couple days relaxing and I'm all philosophical now I guess :).
