I had bought a CG coat quite a few years ago. I never did find out the date of that coat. I did resell back on eBay. It did have the same CG tag as the tag above.
Peacoat - I emailed you a photo of a CG tag. I also bought a CG coat quite a few years ago. It had the same tag. I bought it for either my son or my wife. Since there was no interest in it , I resold it on ebay I have found it pretty hard to interest other people in the Peacoat bug. Lets...
Hello Peacoat - How are you? I hope everything is good. One of my WWII coats came with no inside tag. Is is however in Excellent shape. It fits me like a size 46, and the sleeves are plenty long enough. Size 46 in a WWII coat is quite rare. My 2nd WWII coat is actually a US Coast Guard coat. I...
My 2 kersey WWII (the years are questionable), my post WWII coats (1950-1969 all Kersey), and my 2 Melton coats All have black buttons w/ black thread.

The Melton coats also have a label which is hidden inside a pocket on the right side of the coat. . It opens vertically and is under the top third button. The contract number, manufacturer, and date of manufacture are on it. My two Meltons are 2002, and 1995.
I'm not sure what affect the cleaner chemicals have on 100% wool. Last year I brought all of my coats to the cleaners. That was a small project in itself. They looked very nice when they got home. The material looks brighter and cleaner. and even slightly darker. Some of the coats in Excellent...
