After I saw that peep on the CZ Bruno, I promptly ordered one from Brownells. I have one on a Ruger #1, it's much blockier looking and not nearly as elegant, but I did not know that they had one for the CZ, and had been thinking about a peep for a long time.
Some old handtools, Safety Razors and associated items, brushes, mugs, and my first love, guns, both modern and old, my oldest being a fully functioning 1873 Swiss Vetterli, converted from rimfire to centerfire which I still shoot.
Good info, I have a couple of 30-06 rifles, Winchester Mod 70 featherweights that kick much harder than my CZ 375. On the other hand I have two Ruger #1 tropicals, one in 375 H&H and the other a .458Win mag. The 375 recoils much faster and at least the perceived recoil is much worse. My worst...
Thanks, I like nice wood and pretty rifles. But for me, yes a plinker. I no longer hunt, but like shooting bigger calibers. That CZ is heavy enough that recoil is much less than my Featherweight Win Mod 70 in 30-06.
I also shoot a Ruger #1 in 375 and one in .458 Win Mag. The hardest...
The Darne does have a very strong camming action, and I had also read that comment about it popularity in SE Asia, probably also because Vietnam was a French colony up until the mid 50's. I have not hunted with it but on clay birds it is very fast. It just handles well and is so light weight...
Glad you all enjoyed it!
If you want to see some more go over to this forum and see one that was recently engraved by the current importer.

While more of a big plinker than safari rifle, here's my CZ 550 Safari American in 375H&H. I picked it up at Gander Mountain about three years ago when they had one of those specials, so much off on a gun over a certain price. They also had a 416 Rigby and a 458Lott. The 416 would have...
They are not very common. I saw my first one when I was stationed in Turkey back in 1973. I did not know anything about them then, although I wish I had so I would have purchased it. Since then I have only seen two other Darne's other than my 28ga, one a cheaper Halifax model not in good...
Cannot argue with that. I have several K-31's thankfully purchased when prices were in the $70 range each. I looked at Simpson's yesterday and was shocked at the going rate now.
My 1911 was obtained via a group buy/import deal a few years back. I added a Furter rear sight ( a micrometer...
A couple of nice Swiss straight pull bolt action military rifles. The First a 96/11 Schmidt Rubin, the second a K-31, both with fantastic wood that would be excellent for a custom sporter much less a military rifle

The blue/grey thin ribbon pushed me to have Art make me one like it, and later I picked up an Adventurbilt, but reshaped it more like the one Chris Cooper wore in that movie also.
The new Akruba Campdraft "Silverbelly" I just received is more of a very light tan, and I immediately bashed it...
Honestly the last bigger thing and it was not all that large was a boar when I was stationed overseas in Turkey back in the early 1970's.
I still get a hoot out of punching holes in targets with my Ruger #1 tropicals in .458 Win and .375 H&H, CZ Safara .375 H&H, as well as a group of 45-70's...
I went back and opened up the box my Art Fawcett hat is stored in for the summer. It's in a light blue-grey felt and was made like the hat Jeff Bridges wore in the movie "Seabiscuit". Except for the color the new Campdraft is a dead ringer for that hat.
Mine came in today, the wife brought the box back and said "another hat"!!
I promptly unpacked in and formed a semi teardrop bash with a pinch. I do like this color, it's more tan than I thought it would be, thinking more of the Stetson Silverbelly which strikes me as a light bright grey.
I like that what must be a Prince of Wales type grip on the Model 46, as well as the long barrel and express type sight. If you hold the gun out and look at the stock closely, mine has some cast off so when I throw it up the sights align with my eye easily.
I wish they still made rifles...
O yes, Responded to a question earlier and went back and counted I think 27 varieties. Some years ago I had worked in a pharmacy and had acquired quite a few samplers.
I'm liking a lot of the classics, Old Spice, have three varieties of Bay Rum, Clubman in the standard Clubman, Special...
