That would be like wearing an oven on your head down here, We have now had 32 days of over 100 degree temps, and mid week is forecast to be 103-106.
My non ventilated straws are too warm, whatever I wear needs to be ventilated,
I wish I could justify one of the naked kind.
I have managed a couple of hammer shotguns, both Husqvarna's, one a traditional style, the other one of the Lefacheaux types, that has a metal forearm that serves as an opening lever.
I have couple of those 94 Winchester High grades, mine are acutally the 1894-1994 centennial model, I found new in a sporting goods store back in 2000. I purcased one then had second thoughts and had them hold it and my son picked it up on his way home from school. It does not have gold...
I like that bluegrass, especially the bash. No matter how I try I cannot get one to look like that.. I'm like you I like the creamy color of my new silverbelly, just wish the weather would cool off so I can wear it. The way I sweat, about 5 minutes outside and it would be permanently stained.
I never had to "hump" one except for a couple of years drill in ROTC. As medical officers we would only be allowed firearms for defensive purposes only, to protect ourselves, our hospital or our patients, nothing else.
I have one M-1 and love it for its shootability and accuracy. M-16 types...
No picture, but wishing I had this. Back when I was in high school in the early 60's, dad was in the office equipment business. He brought home a Underwood portable noiseless typewriter for me to use. The shift for capital letters moved the entire carriage up. The noiseless feature was...
I went down to a small town to do some relief work. Caught some positive comments about my Panama from a couple of younger folks, a man and woman at different times.
Definetly excellent rifles, but I do not know about finest. I like to put my Swedish Mausers, and the Swiss Schmidt-Rubins and K-31's up there in that category also.
My all time favorite is Stilton, followed by some of the Brittish Cheddars. I'll never turn down a nice wedge of Brie either. I can really say that about just about any cheese I have run across, although I have not been able to try Limburger.
Here in E. Texas out of the ordinary cheeses are...
Phillip, I had noticed the ghost ring was attacted in the claw mount base, and had thought the height was to place your eye in a plane similar to what it would be when using a scope. I did not notice anything about the stock, really because I am not familiar with double rifles, they are just...
Looking at the last few posts, I thought of a couple of other forums, that have subsections on African hunting, big bore guns and even double rifles.

Beautiful rifle. There is nothing like fine tools, no matter what the job.
I cannot help but to notice the height of both the front and rear sights, I am presuming that it allows you to shoot with a more heads up postion.
As a side note I just received one of the NECG ghost ring rear sights...
My father had at one time two Model 10's, one the 4" barrel which I now have, the other had a 2" barrel, but the standard K frame grips just like the other. I only shot it twice, but found it extremely accurate and I asked him if he every wanted to get rid of it I would buy it. He forgot and...
Got one of those that was my Dad's, but with a 4" barrel. I do not plan on shooting +p loads in it, or my 1968 vintage K-38. They will probably handlel them but I see no need, just bring out the .357
All very nice, makes my mouth water!
I no longer hunt, and never went after anything larger than Whitetail or wild eurasian boar when I was stationed in Turkey, but If I did I would like a rifle configuered exactly like the little Husqvarna M46 in 9.3x57
I have, but built on a M 98 Masuer...
Got one that is similar, exceptions being a slightly heavier ribbed barrel with ramped front sight and an adjustable rear. Mine is a K-38, the target model, and it has a matching model in 22 LR, a K-22. The did make one in 32 , a K-32 which I wish I had to complete a trio, but in 40 years of...

A lot of good info about weight and stock design here.
Back in 1963, when I finished high school dad got me my first centerfire rifle. He won it in a sales contest with Underwood typewriter co, a Winchester Model 70 featherweight in 30-06. It came in about mid June so weather was hot when I...
