I bought my K-38 for $68, new from K mart but that was back in 1968, Got the K-22 a couple of years later
for $75, from a NCO in our clinic, who had an interest in a pawn shop.
I have never had a Python, shot one once a long time ago. I have a small group of K frames, K-38 & K-22, an old Model 10, 38 special 4" barrel, dad had for a house gun. He had one with a 2" barrel I really liked and could shoot well and I had asked him if he did not want it I would buy it. He...
I have an old Minnetoka(sp) ventilated hat. It is fairly heavy, and cool(not appearance, but comfort), but after wearing one of the military kevlar helments I do not think about a hat being heavy.
10-12 Parker 51 sets, 4 of the Vacumatic sets, ( Like Sets) Shaefer touchdowns, Snorkles, and Balance, 4 Conway Stewart, Five of the Esterbrook sets, blue, gray, green, red and copper, then Montblanc Meisterstucks in both classic black and bordeaux.
I don't disagree at all but for some of us a lot of practice is not in the cards. It's about 50 miles one way for me to my range, and due to family commiments last winter and spring plus this killer hot summer, the last time I shot anything was last autumn.
I am more of a rifleman at heart so...
+ that on the Scandium. I have one of the double action only models, for a pocket gun and it's excellent in that role, in 38 special. In 38 it's a handful, recoil is unpleasant, I can only imagine what it would be in .357.
None that I know of really close. There was one NW of Frankston and a bigger one SW of Longview Sunday. The news reported a lot of highways closed and were hoping that they could stop it at one of the highways, but it jumped across. Late yesterday afternoon the sky just to the east of us was...
Good looking rifle. I know nothing about the "South & Central American Mausers" and basically have focused my interest on the model 96 Swedish Mausers, having one somewhat unique rifle. It is an 1900 Mauser Obendorf, made in Germany model, dated 1900, two digit serial number, and arsenal...
I have one similar. I cannot for the life of me remember the model number, but same configuration but a sacandium or titanium frame and barrel shroud. Extremely light weight, I hardly realize it is in my pants pocket, but recoil is stiff with standard 38 loads, and really stout with +p loads.
You will certainely enjoy that one. I have one a bit older, a 1952 model my Dad bought when I was in the second grade. Mine predates the gold trigger and lacks the pistol grip cap. I often wonder how many thousands of rounds I have shot through it in all these years. I have big plans for...
I have not been wearing fedora styles but for about 4 years now, I worried about how I might look and being from the deep south, and living in E Texas stuck with western styles.
I started with the smaller(than western) fedora's, was a little self conscious at first, then it became the norm...
I have some vintage Parker 51's and all are good writers. Same can be said for some 50's vintage Sheaffer snorkle's, and a mid 60's Sheaffer cartridge fill pen I used in college. Montblancs are always good. The newest I have and use the most is a Parker Sonnet.
Not much, Get a Brownell's catalog or go online to their site and get the trigger you want. Install it yourself, it's really rather simple, and should not take much over 30-45 minutes. I'm no expert but have done a few, just fit the trigger to the gun and not vice-versa.
The 1911 is one...
Fantastic find. I paid way more than that for one 25 years ago, new. It has since been customized by Cylinder and Slide, Bar-Sto match barrel C&S wide trigger which removes that awful magazine safety, extended slide release and safety, and finally the good part,, C&S cns machined sear and small...
I wear a very narrow width and good boots are hard to find. I have an old pair of Vasque midweight mountain boots I picked up from Eddie Bauer back in 1973 that still fit perfectly and are in excellent shape. Last year Danner slipped up and had a special coupon offer that I managed to get in...
I saw where Clark Custom guns was converting the CZ double shotgun to rifles, one caliber being .405. I ran into a gentleman over in W.Monroe, La at the parish range last year who was having one made. I just wonder about the durability of the frame with that rifle cartridge
I have one of the...
