A Challenge ??
:)
OK Dit-Dah Old Boy, a race it is then :D
From a strictly commercial point-of-view, I would say that Aero and Eastman probably have a team making jackets and one poor soul doing repairs. Repairs to own-made jackets must rank as more of a loss leader to maintain customer...
As you're in the UK, surely a 'phone call would sort everything out quickly ?
Will's a good guy and I'm sure that they would be mortified if they were aware of your wait. Maybe you have slipped through the net but I'll bet good money they'll pull out the stops to sort it out FAST.

I use my Highwayman on my Kawasaki W650 and I've never had a problem with the plain back and non press studded collar.
Although perhaps with a cruiser bike with the arms REALLY outstretched or on a sports bike, you might find it handy. Personally I found that the bi-swing backs add more to...
Aero jackets
I can recommend the Highwayman as I've got one and had another. Although I'm about to send off my 10 year old H/M as part exchange for a modified Trail Rider. I've gone for the Trail rider in black vintage FQHH with Highwayman cuffs, no storm cuffs, a Highwayman front chest pocket...
Zoot suit
We had zoot suits made up for my section. They were more of a pose than anything. A bit like US paras using camo parachute cut-outs for neck scarves. They were used under our windproofs in really cold, windy weather and as sleep suits in hot climates. Back in the day they were the...
Thanks
Hi 'H',
I'm not 100% sure the jeans have stopped shrinking but I'm hoping I've not stopped either !
All my buttons are the riveted on type rather than sew on. I've just assumed that these are neither possible to find nor fix outside of Levi's factory ...
Dave
I've got a couple of pairs of Levi's 18 something or other jeans. They have suspender buttons and the rear cinch strap but no belt loops. Sometimes I do wear suspenders with them. Most often in winter as they are under a sweater. In summer I'd prefer to wear them without braces / suspenders but...
There's hope then
A good take on the value of our hobby Burnsie !
The mod' to the jacket just shows the contempt with which these free issue jackets were held in by their original receipiants ! lol
Who in their right mind would do that to a $900 repro' ? :p
Dave
Cool
Thanks for posting those buddy !
The first jacket photo looks to have an extra press stud on the chest above the pocket and extra stitching that imply an stitched through leather inside pocket. Am I right ? Am I a sad anorakie type with no life ? :p
Dave
Great photo
Those jackets all look pretty loose fitting to me.
I need to look at original photos with an eye to whether the wearer is a fighter pilot or a bomber crewman. There might well be a link between role of the man and fit of the jacket.
I'm a bomber man myself ;) Practical...
Realism
I'm basically pro reenactment / living history as I've already said. Sensitivity to location etc is paramount. But of course there is always a danger that as no-one is actually reenacting atrocities (And I'm not for one second suggesting that we should - leave it to the movies)...
Cut sure, GW are o.k. So are RMNZ, The Few, ELC etc. Sizing no way !!!. A guy with a 38 chest may opt for a 42 so that it fits over his flight kit. YOU , my friend, cannot tell the size of a jacket that someone is wearing. Nor how many sizes it is allegedly too big or small for your particular...
YW
:)
You're most welcome Burnsie. Glad I made someone laugh rather than blow their top for a change :)
I'm not trying to be moralistic (I've got loads of jackets but none are remotely the same) and I'm not suggesting we all sell them off and donate the money to charity. However many...
Steer
You can't beat steer for an 'authentic' horsehide look can you huh ?lol
I'm sure that there were lots of makers who used steer. If we still can't tell nowadays without a chemical analysis (and even then it's iffy isn't it after tanning?) wouldn't it be funny if half the jackets some...
Fit ?
I've always been of the opinion that bomber crews needed a relaxed fit so that they could wear the A-2 over a bunnie-suit and flight suit to keep warm. The leather is a great windbreaker.
Fighter pilots perhaps wore the A-2 tight as an affectation to mark them out as different to the...
