The next board game that my friends and I will undertake is going to be "Shadows Over Camelot." My younger brother played this game before and is insisting that our friends play it with us. He has been consistently asking to play. I hope it is as exciting as his recounting of the game. I read...
I see I am a few years late weighing in on this, as is my custom.
I did a rather cursory search for onion paper and I came across a company selling what is called onionskin/ paper. You may wish to check them out at...
I still swing the axe to split wood but I will admit that I wear shin guards (the type football/soccer players wear.) I am fairly well versed with an axe but I still take some precautions.
As a reminder, if the axe becomes wedged in the wood, it is not the maul. Most axes do not hold up well...
Thank you for posting what you did. I learned something I did not know. I did not know when Victoria reigned and I did not take the time to ever look this information up. So when people spoke about Victorian era material(s) I was very ignorant and remained silent.
Thank you for sharing.
Paper, Paper, Paper and did I mention the paper. I have found I do not retain information as well if I attempt to study using a screen. For me having a tangible object to read, make notes on and so forth allows me to better connect with the material.
I attend nothing but small town rodeos. I have not attended a "big time" rodeo. The rodeos I have attended have the competitors and fans purchasing refreshments at the same vendor stands. I would like to see a "big time" rodeo but if not it is okay.
I will be honest, I would like to attend a...
"back in the day" When was "back in the day?" I do not feel confident my research papers and other items requiring credibility will be accepted if I date my sources and events as "back in the day."
My favorite comfort food would be some homemade smoked bbq. Yes it takes a lot of time but it is one my favorites. After that may be some homemade Mac and Cheese. Yes some real health food here.
Thank you gentlemen. I enjoyed the challenge in shaping the hat. As a first attempt I was pleased to see that the general shape was achieved.
I will work on getting the rake into the crown. I did not even think about that. :)
About 2 weeks ago, I went out and shot 100 rounds of .40 cal for practice. Along with it I shot some 9 mm and some .22 cal. I spent about 2 hours pulling the trigger. I really enjoy all three rounds, each for different reasons. Yet, when it comes to carrying one each day, I still turn to the .40...
I was able to spend some time practicing some shaping today at a local hat shop that a steamer and some hats that have been donated. I took the chance to try my hand at shaping. The manager of the shop gave me a hat that was anything but in good shape, but it offered some very interesting...
GTDean and T. Jones, all these/ those hats look very nice. As for ribbons on westerns I prefer the tails to have a bit of length, similar to one TJ posted.
I do not currently own any westerns with ribbon work but I am checking them out when I come across them. All of the felt hats I own have...
As for articles of clothing, I personal do not wear clothes owned by other people. So a vintage hat or previously owned hat would not be in my possession. Now a vintage firearm, that I would enjoy. I would enjoy meeting the owner of such an item. I would hope to learn a lot about the item and...
Thursday evening, a couple of friends and I played "Sword of Rome." We had a lot of fun with this game. It truly plays all the way to the end, with anyone being able to come back upon the last turn. This game challenges the players to think ahead but requires them to remain flexible or else...
