I do see this comment will be almost 9 years after the previous comments. I came across two Lee Hats in Georgia. One hat was in Sackett's Western Wear and Tack in Dalton, GA. While the other was at Horsetown (East) in Snellville, GA. Neither of which had bound edges, both hats were western hats...
Currently, a custom made hat by Gene Baldwin at Baldwin Hats and Boots, is the hat I wear most. It is a black western with a 4 inch brim, with self band and buckle. It is a pure beaver hat. I generally wear it for about 11 hours a day.
As for the why, I like the look hat, the feel of hat, and...
I saw some of the 50X Icon(s) of the 150th Anniversary collection. I saw one in black and one in silverbelly. They were both very nice but at $600, I left them right where I saw them. I felt for $600 I can get a nice custom hat that can be more personalized. These hats came in Stetson's 150th...
I have an odd question but I am asking all the same. Has anyone ever thought to make a fur felt baseball cap or has anyone made a fur felt styled baseball cap (s)?
Wednesday is said to be 72 degrees (22 degrees Celsius) where I am going to be. With that in mind I am pulling out a straw hat!

I am also battling myself on what I would like for my next hat.

I visited Sackett's today. I was there around 2 pm. There was no one working on hats, but that is not unusual. Not a great deal of people bring in hats during the week.
I had a look around. I saw a handful of straws, a fair number of wools, a few fedoras but only 4 fur felt hats for sell. Three...
