I personally consider the Buffalo collection by Stetson to be a wool. The hat has the feel/ hand of wool. These hats respond a great deal to steam, shaping, and other behaviors very close to that of wool. I have heard of others considering buffalo to be a fur felt; I do not agree but that is...
Does anyone have any special or one of a kind hat bands that go well with westerns. Hat bands that I am familiar with are self band, rattle snake band (Mouth and rattle), horse hair and stampede strings. I have also seen some hats with ribbons as the hat band. If you have any others, would you...
The only time I display a hat is when I am wearing it; otherwise I put it in a hatbox. I do not have a wife. I have a problem the military gave me, everything has a place and everything must be in it's place disorder. :)
I second what Fed in a Fedora stated. Purchase yourself a Shantung (paper based hat) that has been shellacked. These hats stand up well to the rain, due to the shellac. I personally own a shantung-made hat just recently was caught in heavy rain fall with it on. The hat held up well and the rain...
I have run across another one of my pet peeves here on the lounge. It is the improper, incorrect, inexcusable and poorly used word, "like." The improper use of this word absolutely annoys me and I find myself biting my lip or tongue very often. "Like... you know..." "Nobody has used that word...
It appears to be very similar to a Stratoliner that has been hand creased on the crown. It favors a cattleman crease without the side dents, but the crease does not look large enough to be a center dent. The brim also appears to be one that was shaped after purchasing.
I am simply guessing...
So the cheapest I have seen for a Paragon (in black) is ~$802 prior to taxes. I have yet to see one in a size 7 1/2, but $800 is great deal better than the $1200-$1500 I have seen banded about.
I said I would update when I learned something new about pricing, thus the posting. I wanted to...
There are a few Ryan's Steakhouses linger around in Georgia as well. I recall visiting these establishments a fair bit when I was still on elementary and middle school. My parents definitely enjoyed the benefits of an all you can eat while trying to raise 3 sons. I can only imagine what a...
I was going to post a new custom hat that I purchased from Gene Baldwin at Baldwin Custom Hat Company of Sisters, Oregon... but the USPS crushed it for me. The brim is crimped on the front left, there is a nice 90 degree angle on the edge of the brim. Then entire back of the hat looks like waves...
I am going to imagine a new generation of soldiers spending time turning out nicely smoked cuts of meat. :)
I am in contact with only two people I served with but that is okay. We have a good time together.
Does anyone else here wear their brim in the "shovel" shape. I have a straw hat with a shovel front. It has really grown on me. I am consider reshaping one of two felts into a shovel front.
By shovel I do not mean the bull rider long squared off brim.
I just wanted to see if I was alone in...
Anyone here have some chocolate western hats that they would like to share images of. I am still considering a chocolate western hat. I have been turning it over in my head again and again. Feel free to share.
