Local taxes are not (at least they shouldn’t) charged when exporting.
So Eastman will charge you the price ex UK VAT and then you’ll pay VAT and custom duties/fees to the Dutch authority. This is assuming a WTO style deal. A lot of EU online stores normally quote prices both with and without...
Cordovan leather is typically burgundy (so called #8 but can be many other colours) and for some reason I think Aero started using cordovan to denote a shade of burgundy/oxblood CXL HH and Steer. People on this forum also use the two terms interchangeably.
For most people outside this forum...
Freewheelers patterns look great on just about everyone is a bold statement dude. They are pretty peculiar too with super long sleeves, wide shoulders and tiny chests. I mean I love Freewheelers jackets but... not sure they really are for everyone.
Edit: Just to be clear, I’m not saying FC are...
Let’s not forget Fine Creek make a ton of other models not just the Perfecto with and w/o epaulettes. I mean the cut off epaulettes perfecto is a single model out of I don’t know 50 they make?...
I don’t like the elongated silhouette either but some people clearly do while I think the leather...
Looks pretty good to me! I like the way it fits you.
There was an half belt floating around the classifieds at some point made out of a similar looking leather, maybe it was robbie’s jacket but I can’t remember. Definitely not Vicenza (or at least not what they regularly stock) and not Natural CXL.
Very likely Thurnston bros negotiated a longer term contract with Thedi why those stockists a one-off. I’d expect at some point Thurston prices will be brought in line with the others. Also European retail prices include 20% VAT while I’m not an expert and can be totally wrong but isn’t sale tax...
Colour would also be an important factor for me to a certain degree more than the style. So at least one brown and one black. I could do two jackets of the same style but I think i’d want the option of the 2 colours.
Anyways...
1 - straight zip collared jacket (this is the most versatile...
Couple of recent pictures that just reinforced my love of the style.
This is an actual vintage
And this is the newest Attractions grizzly colour way (I believe this specific model is based off the Albert Richards or at least it comes really close)
That’s because when washing unsanforized denim the cotton shrinks and causes the leg twisting. It happens with most unsanforised denim. What I meant was more reproduction companies a la CSF. They do use rusting metal buttons and asymmetric stitching just to emulate the imperfections of Levi’s of...
I don’t think that’s the case. That would/could happen with a reproduction company that takes things to the extreme (there are some Levi’s repro companies that purposefully imitate the wonky stitching etc of war time production).
Apart from odd the one (I can’t think anything else apart from...
^ in my case I left them slightly looser as there’s lots of leather there to break in, the tongue that folds on itself when lacing up, the kilties/false tongues that adds to the bulk plus the leather liner. I expect to be able to lace them tighter once broken in.
My first impression is that...
Yep another rabbit hole! The brown dress leather is quite supple though the soles definitely need some break in. I went with a lightish built (single sole/soft toe) but they are still some though mfs. I only wish they’d offer them without storm welt so the sole would be closer to the uppers.
