That is really a nice fit HH. I’d be pretty pleased with that fit.
You could have gone an inch shorter in the body I guess but that’s really nitpicking.
It’s undeniable that there are brands that are very... polarising on the TFL. How many times one needs to read about how bad FCL is because they cut-off the epaulettes of one out 50 models, the dislike for mismatched panels and what not? Jeez the busted seam posted twice already in 2 pages...
^agreed sounds like common sense. Also the amount of leather skivved plays a part.
I find it a bit funny though that higher stitch count is normally seen as a trademark of quality and now all of a sudden it becomes a sign of inferior construction because it’s FCL and somehow it’s not a forum...
The discussion on that jacket busted seam on Styleforum is full of drama already.
Just to put things in perspective, that jacket was purchased through Self Edge and the shop owner said that in 2 years they carried the brand they sold around 600 FCL jackets. That was the only jacket where that...
If you are ok with the alteration, I think for €300 it’s a pretty good deal as it looks brand new. If you like it go for it. I also think you could resell it at around that price. Apart from original vintage jackets, all repros are “bad” investments as one rarely makes a profit.
If you add VAT to that price , 20%, the price for a UK customer would come out at £804 which doesn’t seem like a meaningful price as they normally are round figures. I think Marc and Blackadder are right.
Here is an old thread discussing the matter of Aero/Eastman approach to non-UK sales:

501s are described as a regular mid-rise and I think it’s right, that’s how they feel to me.
There is a 1967 505 model that LVC make so I suppose they have been around at least since then.
Really sorry to hear that Carlos.
Jacket is killer thanks for the review. Surely one of the makers I largely overlook but this looks pretty good indeed.
For the most authentic Eddie Vedder’s look I think you should just walk into a thrift store and buy the leftovers :) the guy seems to be literally putting zero thought and effort in the way he dresses. He obviously couldn’t care less about what’s he wearing (and it shows, he’s a mess:)) so...
I suggest zenmarket.jp. Done around 20 transactions all smooth. Load money into the account from credit card or PayPal and bid/bin. Nothing really complicated, the best way imho is to jump in and try the service with maybe a relative small purchase.
Whites Bounty Hunters. Very sturdy boots, probably not my prettiest but surprisingly very comfortable. I can see these becoming my walking boots of choice.
Jeez this has been a long running issue... see this thread from 2012.

I find it a bizzarre way of dealing with international sales. It is discriminatory pricing.
Orslow 105 and Warehouse lot 800 imho are great jeans in a timeless cut and at around 14oz are comfortable to wear. I think both are available through S&S.
Another reason is that the insurance also just covers the declared value normally. So if it gets lost the sender can only claim back the amount declared. Shops will normally refuse to do that for this reason.
(Also it’s technically illegal to lower the declared value :))
Ok I checked what the rules are for exports from UK to EU from 1st of January 2021 (today):
“VAT on exports
As of 1 January 2021, when it comes to exporting goods to EU countries, the VAT situation also changes. Exports to EU countries are treated like those to non-EU countries, which is to...
That sucks and I don’t think it is right. Double taxation is never right.
Anyway, take for example one of the largest online stores in the EU of denim/heritage clothing, German based Cultzim.com. Price for outside of the EU customers are clearly quoted ex 19% German VAT. That is how I would...
I admittedly didn’t read the details of the Brexit trade deal with the EU but it is against common sense to assume the customer will end up paying VAT twice both in UK and in the importing country to the local tax authority.
Local taxes like the VAT are normally not charged when exporting but...
