It seems like a pretty complex jacket to build. I bet Freewheelers spent ages building the right patterns. You pay for that too I’d assume. 5* working off pictures managed to pull it off somehow but there are flaws. Expecting them to have designer imho is a bit much for the price they charge...
Doesn’t make any sense to me... BK could well be made in Pakistan for what we know but it’s impossible it’s 5*. Aside from leather and hardware which are worlds apart, BK tweaks stock sizes very much like Aero but doesn’t build off a sketch of the jacket with measurements sent by the customer...
Agreed. Levi’s offering is so vast that they can’t be dismissed as “spandex pant”. The 100% cotton Levi’s very much feel like “jeans” (more so that the 25oz etc nonsense if you ask me).
I think the 501 STF are still a very solid option for work/casual jeans.
Yes exactly. At the end of the day to find out what you like there is some inevitable trial and error that you have to go through. You can get useful advice here but it’s largely subjective opinions.
All the Aeros I’ve had they felt/feel too big and too small at the same time. Don’t know maybe it’s just bad luck but I’ve been happier with other makers.
Wow looks stunning! The design is just beautiful I remember posting a picture of the original jacket this is based on but now I cannot remember the brand.
It fits you perfectly, looks like a custom to me. This is a keeper!
I love it and I think you wear it very well @SkyCapt.
Grizzlies aren’t exactly the plain Janes of leather jackets but imho there are so many styles that look much more out there that people don’t think twice about wearing.
Old Levi’s (selvedge) have always had the rough non folded single stitched inseam. Many repros are like that and they are far from cheap as you know.
To be honest this is something that has never bothered me and probably never will :)
Btw jeans with a double felled outseam (like wrangler)...
^agreed. No two brands are the same although the stitching used on standard Levi’s, which I think is what Mike posted, is the most common.
The jeans I’m wearing right now have no rough edges on either side
I’d go with the 40 too as long as you can layer under it (the waist still looks snug as this is the cut of the jacket so if you can’t fit a hoodie comfortably under the 40 then I’d stick with the 38).
I think the piping slope and the cuff length are forgivable especially considering this is an entirely new design for them, but not the zipper. That renders the jacket unwearable and needs to be sorted out.
I share the same feeling as @red devil. I think as long as someone is discussing politely and objectively, like I think you have been doing, there is nothing to worry about.
I also think that a long-standing tfl membership does not necessarily translate into becoming a leather jacket authority...
It happened to me as well and I was pretty surprised at the time. Then I realised these people talk a lot but never seem to buy/show any jacket... very weird!
They look a bit like a Role Club rip off to me.
Things I personally don’t like are the buckles (damn they’re chunky!) and the slope of the heel imho is just too exaggerated. The lower strap also looks weird and I don’t understand why it extends so much above the last row of stitching?
They...
