Buying jackets on Japanese auction sites

My understanding of proxies is that you don’t buy anything from them but rather they buy on your behalf and what they offer you is the service of buying from a website that wouldn’t otherwise ship outside of Japan. I’m not sure they could be held responsible for items not as described etc.

Ask a Question, Get An Answer About Outerwear

According to Wikipedia the Dutch are the tallest country in the world. Men’s height averages out at 184cm! Means there are quite a few guys standing at 2m tall. Wow... I’m a miserable 170cm... yeah I’m not Dutch :)

    Battle Of The Top-Tier Engineers

^They are hard to get by. I think I read somewhere they are taking pre orders now but I can be wrong. Seriously though, as cliche as it sounds, you can’t go wrong with any of the makers you brought up though the big absents from your list imho all the Japanese brands like Clinch, attractions...

Attractions by a long shot and game over for all the other makers as far as engineers go. :) yeah I like them a lot

    Lost Worlds Grizzly Jacket Review

You look good in it. I like the shade of the fur. In my opinion it looks also fairly understated compared to other styles of jackets.

Which high quality leather jackets does the ladies wear?

Alice Balas (https://www.alicebalas.com/piece-unique) make some of the most beautiful women’s leather jackets imho and they also do customs. They are pricey though.

My experience with BK was unremarkable in the sense that all went smooth. Placed the order and after 3 months I got my jacket. I did a sort of custom order changing the collar from shawl to the wingman one on a cadet. I ordered it in Black Liberty (HH). I personally haven’t experienced much...

Is that a fake Belstaff Trialmaster?

If you can’t tell it apart from an original then it means it’s good enough :-p honestly looks legit but if I had so many doubts I’ll just move on.

    Fake Shops

Websites that list stuff much cheaper than anywhere else or long discontinued items (e.g. from previous seasons no longer sold anywhere else for quite some time) should immediately raise a red flag. They also normally all have generic templates (cookie cut websites so to speak although they...

I had the petroleum quilted lining in my Aero grizzly and yes it’s not bad warmth wise, it didn’t get me through winter but down to 8-10 degrees (Celsius) I was fine. I think it’s a good liner although not particularly popular. My only caution is that the petroleum-coloured one can turn out...

What was the road to your fit nirvana? :)

Another thing... the clothes discussed here and on styleforum aren’t accessible to the wide majority of people in their 20s simply because they are way too expensive. I’m not surprised about forums’ ageing population :) (only a factor the others being those i mentioned in my previous post)...

What was the road to your fit nirvana? :)

Yes and I think it’s partly due to changing habits, partly due evolving technology and partly to the fact that the amount of information available on internet in 2021 is exponentially larger than what it was in 2005, when I think many of the big forums were born. Forums are places mostly to ask...

What was the road to your fit nirvana? :)

I think the main reason is that the “youngsters” on forums are at least 30years old these days. Those in their 20s don’t do forums anymore.

It fits you pretty well! The cuffs might settle when the leather breaks in. As far as Clix zippers, I thought that was the standard LL zipper brand. I had the same on my Cyclone (which I didn’t specifically request).

What was the road to your fit nirvana? :)

I unfortunately haven’t been able to set on a preferred fit yet. I find my tastes are continually evolving both in term of styles of jackets and fits. I do get bored and I like to try out different things. I did enjoy trim fits in the past but over the past couple years I’ve started to prefer...

    EBay arghh!! ##$&&

Go through the eBay process. File for item not as described and the seller will have to send you a prepaid shipping return label. I doubt he’ll fake his own shipping address if he wants the hat back. House number and zip code is normally enough in UK to identify an address.

    Post Brexit import experiences

It’s clearly the VAT the issue. It’s weird if they choose to not deduct it and keep it as profit, as before Brexit all EU sales where susceptible to UK VAT. Seems a small gain in the short term but potentially less clients in the future. On the other hand, they should start deducting it also...

    Explaining the Aero Fit.

Interesting chart especially how this over/under sizing seems to fluctuate over time. If the past is anything to go by we are moving towards more relaxed sizes in the next decade. I think it’d be even more helpful for people considering Aeros to list the stock size measurements for each model...
