    German magazine scans 1930s

Yes it is the Spring catalogue. The text also mentions that it is common to "inaugurate" a new suit on Easter.

    Pre 65 suit??? Still Learning..

The labelling is typical American. It is made from English fabric.

Great zipper-wear on this one. I like the way the windbreaker is worn under a plain dark suit coat.

    Pre 65 suit??? Still Learning..

Late 1950's to early 60's. The jacket cut, two slits, lapels and trouser legs indicate this.

Around 30 suits (20 for myself) and 20 sportcoats and odd jackets (half of them for myself). As I sell and exchange all the time it is sometimes hard to keep track.:D

1930s Thornproof tweed 3-piece sports suit with breeches. Size 40 R tending slightly to the shorter side. Too short for my limbs anyway.

@Countryclubjoe A photo of the front of the jacket, just laying flat and closed would be interesting.

    Pre-1950s British/European sportswear and leisurewear

I agree a 1960s rustic women country or ski suit. The bell-like shape indicates 60s.

    Pre 65 suit??? Still Learning..

A good photo of the suit front (best photograph it laying flat on the floor) would certainly be helpful.

@Two Types Interestingly enough German tailoring publications from 1943/44 call for omitting the ¨useless" breast pocket altogether from all suits (wartime saving measure). One of the reasons given was that it is easier to turn the fabric of the suit and have no slit on the chest on the wrong...

Thanks for the correct HBK. So indeed one of those rare sporty Brit beltbacks.

I didn't post it here before... but just added the rest of this advertisment flyer in the 1930's German ad thread: http://www.thefedoralounge.com/showthread.php?51991-German-magazine-scans-1930s/page10 Thanks Nick for the draft!

    German magazine scans 1930s

No year given... I strongly suspect 1939, due to the styles of the garments. I like this flyer also due to the colorful illustrations and high quality paper... it has a kind of waxy finish.

I tend to 50s because of the style of the Kreseta label. Also I have not seen German 30-40s ties with horizontal loop labels... However it might be late 40s... it is not of the narrow 50s variety in any case. Alas the tip is a bit damaged, but good enough to wear under waistcoats or high closing...

Here is the old thread: http://www.thefedoralounge.com/showthread.php?61793-Your-complete-4-part-country-solution Yes, it was made by Oviatt's.

Thank you Qirrel. They have some good buttons. My first choice would be vintage British buttons, but their dovegrey rimmed corozo buttons look good. Too bad they only accept orders of at least 25 buttons of one size. Yes.

was it the rust on brown windowpane with matching cap?

    Show us your British suits

Yes, will do that. Of course they'd have to match, so it will require a set of 6 front and 6 sleeve buttons. Problem is I only have German bowled type button sets and not the rimmed British variety (marbled plastic or corozo).

Thanks, I like 4-button DBs, but the stance here is a bit lower, thus creating a very long chest and empty space... I consider sewing on a pair of decorative buttons. What do you guys say? Here a doctored photo with 6 buttons:
