Again not a German suit, but Finnish - made from imported British cloth.
Ca. 1947-1950, the legs have been tapered according to the late 40's style and the excess cut off. *sigh*
Yet a quintessentially late 40's European suit (I have warmed up to the button configuration, which is quite typical...
This one has a even more civilian cut (3 buttons and a rounded front cut) and is an uniform.

The square front and four buttons make it distinctly more uniformish in appearance.

Ok, maybe there is some confusion. I assumed that the opening poster referred to polo shirts, not the sport of polo.
For the latter you are right, that jodphurs are the appropriate trousers.
Nope. Their ¨sporting¨ use extended to hiking, hunting and cycling among others.
They were pretty much general purpose casual/outdoors trousers in 1920-40´s UK and Continental Europe and often worn around town by younger people.
In the US they certainly were used more limited and became...
Baron, is there a way to tell the maker of this CC41 suit I posted before?
Maybe some code on the paper-label?

Not 1930´s European as per description, but an interesting example of a WW2 US Army Overcoat that has been dyed reddish brown for post-war civilian wear:

Wow! Even 50% off this 1000 USD steal...
The ¨best of best¨ of 30´s suits... :rolleyes:

At least the seller offers returns.
The fact that there is an identical jacket that sold some time before, reinforces my guess that this was indeed a sort of uniform.

¨Prima¨ is German. The jacket buttons look like some German sportcoat buttons I have.
Semi-lined jackets (while often immediately seen as American, were not unusual on European summer coats).
I tend to German and would buy/trade it if it fits me.
Great suit. Note the missing pant cuffs. Makes me appreciate the 4 button DB.
BTW a Norfolk-sportcoat from Monsieur Verdoux has been sold some time ago:

@boinciel
Very good suit you got there. Even with waistcoat! Not bad at all!
@hamilcarbarca
Great suit (though not a zoot).
Note that with this buttoning it is on the ladies side.
If you want to adjust the ¨chest opening¨ iron the lapels accordingly (with a damp cloth to prevent shine).
Brown knit cardigan with bowled horn buttons and chest pocket.
Very long arms - can be turned up of course.
The body length clearly is only suited for proper high-waisted trousers. ;)

There are no police officers in "burkas" (which always has a face cover).

BTW respecting the police doesn't require "love" or "admiration" - and not "fear".
