Thanks. Fished it out of the British bay!
Seller had also a 2-button SB in navy with white pinstripes... but I have already several navy pinstripe suits and not a single grey.
HBK that fabric is great - not too often one sees yellow on suitings.
@TT
I have a British Hepsworth blue-grey suit dated 1948, which has a matching belt.
As Qirrel indicates, they existed much earlier though.

Here also my most recent arrival:
A CC41 suit dated 27. April 1950. Deadstock... quite interesting to wear an "old" suit, that is brand new.
Fits...
This would be a possibility... here is an alternative explanation:
The flag shown was (in a red version) also the flag of the "Khedivate of Egypt", the pre-1914 tributary state of the Ottoman Empire.
The Fez could then have been made in Egypt for Ottoman Turkish costumers. Possibly the...
Very interesting and exotic headgear.
However I have no doubt that it is Egyptian and not Turkish.
1. The paper label inside shows the Royal Egyptian Flag: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_of_Egypt
2. The Ottoman Empire ended in 1923.
The Turkish Republic discontinued the Fez in 1925...
I agree that it is from the German(-speaking) part of Europe.
Frey is a common name in Germany, and the tongues around the interior pockets are a typical feature.
I think it has been shortened, but only a very little bit. It is less the proportions (which look about right for ca. 1938) but the...
German 40's DB suit.
Midnight-blue fabric with cream pinstripes. Very special fabric. It is very sturdy with a smooth surface that has a very subtle purplish-blue shine.
Under artificial light, the suit looks rather black. Under sunlight more navy.
The legs are 10.6 inches wide... so more...
France until the 1950's was the international cultural model par excellance in large parts of the world.
Most countries in Europe, Asia, unless strongly tied to the British Empire, clearly looked to France as a source of "modern civilization" and burgeois culture.
French also being the...
From two larger lots of ties (mostly narrow late-50's) I found some nice 30's - 40's ties:
Brocade - Silk or artificial silk:
Wool and Irish Wool&Silk blend:
Smooth Silk:
Interestingly enough LACO was founded in Hamburg by a British entrepeneur: Charles Lavy. (I guess it's LAvy COmpany.)
So there were strong ties to Britain. :D
I will think of you if I should ever come across more German Tootals. This is the first I have ever seen.
Well they are supposed to be Germans/Austrians.
Pitt played Heinrich Harrer.
Here BTW the real Harrer in Tibet:

And Harrer with a proper Fedora. One of the Tibetans seems to sport a nice velour:

The seller has 19 feedbacks... I assume it's as always with inexperienced or clueless sellers:
either they assume is trash worth next to nothing or they think "it's old - it must be worth a fortune".
P.S.: The ebay costums calculator is a hoot as well. 306 USD just for import fees. :P
This is an interesting one... "Elastico - Wrinklefree"
Made by German company LACO (founded 1838 as a silk manufacturer),
but the label denotes that is made from a Tootal product.
The DRP (Deutsches Reichs-Patent) and DRGM Number are a clear indication of pre-1945 date.
You mean "Hiltl", right?
A well known German trousers maker since the mid-50's. The quality is fine.
But they are of course oriented towards contemporary fashion and not "vintage" oriented at all.
Accordingly they are rather tight and not loose.
Their current styles range has "slim fit"...
