    Alec Baldwin: Good-bye, Public Life

There is still the classic Groucho Marx glasses+'tache. Also period correct (with the round glasses of course).

A ladies hat, reflective glasses and turned up coat collar. :o

    Alec Baldwin: Good-bye, Public Life

Fedora, reflective glasses and a turned up coat collar also work.

Do you count 1945 through 1963 as part of the Golden Era?

In my view it is ambivalent. I also wish for the underlying optimism of Modernism (or as some here call it the "Golden Era") roughly around the same time that has been suggested. However how many of us here have turned to the "Golden Era" because they have grown largely cynical about the...

    Alec Baldwin: Good-bye, Public Life

Hardly a thing p*sses me more off than random strangers taking photos of me with their silly phones without even asking. Happened shortly ago when I was merely waiting in front of a museum. Bah. :rage: I guess I am a striking appearance when wearing a Ulster and a hat... but why not ask for...

    Elbow patches

You can test it: reach into the sleeve and grab the fabric below the patch from the inside, with the other hand grab the the leather patch and see whether they are glued together or not. Some of the newer (lesser quality) jackets may use some kind of glue... normally it should be only...

40R tweed half belt back action pleated tweed jacket. SEE PICS!

Ok, thus the confusion. Maybe it should be clarified by the bartendes. I certainly would have no problem if the rules are changed to prevent such "flaming".

1930's Suit German (2x jackets, waistcoat, pants, shirt) + Ulster-Coat

The pocket opening is certainly too small for a Luger. :p A tiny pocket pistol would fit. @hbk The cotton lining really is outstanding. The entire interior of the waistcoat has it as well.

1930's Suit German (2x jackets, waistcoat, pants, shirt) + Ulster-Coat

Yes, I posted the 3-piece in the "German suit" thread before. Also with information on its pronvenance: http://www.thefedoralounge.com/showthread.php?62278-Show-Us-Vintage-GERMAN-Suits&p=1672608&viewfull=1#post1672608

1930's Suit German (2x jackets, waistcoat, pants, shirt) + Ulster-Coat

Guess that is correct. So maybe the owner wanted a special pocket for his comb. Somehow the shape and hair has to make sense. ;)

1930's Suit German (2x jackets, waistcoat, pants, shirt) + Ulster-Coat

I think I have figured it out! After turning it inside out, I detected three blonde hairs. My conclusion: hair scissors - this was a barber's or hairdresser's suit! Note that this pocket is not at the rear but near the side seam - so the item won't be a hindrance to sitting.

Looking for small pre-war clothing items (around size 34-36R)

I have a black two piece suit from the early 1930s with peak lapels that might fit you. German tailor-work. Also a grey notch lapel flanell jacket with herringbone weave. 1930s. Interested? I'll make tommorrow some photos.

Thanks guys - it is lovely indeed. Rudie, I see your plight... now if it were just a 40L I would have kept it myself. Regarding the peculiar rear pocket... maybe the other side will give you an idea:
