It seemed to me like a really budget movie. Perhaps because it was, but I still enjoyed it very much. I think it gave a realistic sense of the panic and uncertainty felt at the top levels of Australian government during the War.
I know a few people who use them at the local flea-market for keeping loose-change in an easily-accessed area, but beyond that, I've never seen one.
You mean one of these things, right? You put your belt on, and then you slide/clip them on top.
Like I said, only at the local...
Male:
Al Bowlly, and the other great male crooners. Sinatra, Martin, etc.
Female:
Vera Lynn, Andrews Sisters, and one other, who's name escapes me right now...
Have you seen the TV-movie "Curtin"? It's about the P.M. John Curtin in Australia during WWII, and his struggles with other world leaders regarding Australia's position in the war, the defense of the nation.
I don't know if anyone's recommended this one yet (I apologise if this is a repeat), but one of my favourites from the Gilded Age is Irving Berlin's 1911 hit, "Everybody's Doing it Now".
As performed by the famous Edwardian-style chamber-music group, I Salonisti...
Most people don't care one way or the other. Most actually like it. But I do get the occasional person who raises questions about it in one way or another. I do my best to answer, but it's not easy when these people have their own, preconceived notions, if you get my drift.
It's my experience that brown and blue go together extremely well. So long as it's blue clothes and a brown hat. I don't know about the same colour-combo vice-versa.

And they wonder why I have a low opinion of Australian historical dramas...
EDIT - I didn't notice the link to the review up above.
My own observations, having seen both starting episodes...
The Music.
The music is absolutely atrocious. It does NOTHING to provide a period setting AT ALL...
Cute typewriter!
I did a similar thing at last year's Melbourne Pen Show...
Not as good as yours, obviously. I had to work with what I had. The theme was the 1920s and 30s.
People young and old were all pretty amazed/impressed.
1. That I managed to pull it off...
Razor-rash/bumps, cuts and bleeding are caused by...
- Blunt blades.
- Improper technique (wrong angle, too much force/pressure).
- Improper preparation.
A D.E. blade, unless it's sharpened over again, will last for about a week.
