Gold Quality are as you say - from the fifties and made from the early polyester 'Terylene'. I'd go and get them! 'Image' is a much later label and I'm not sure when from. But if you like it go and get it!
Hello ladies and gents,
Had a post-grad history conference yesterday at which I gave a paper. Wore my grey suit from a London tailors (second-hand to me of course!), and a Tootal 'Special Quality' tie.
Thanks for looking!
Superb esteban68! The colours in that fabric are positively romantic up close! With the collar hole, something I often do is open up behind the hole, and put a small piece of the same or very similar cloth behind it. Take the piece from somewhere it won't be seen like an inlay or from behind the...
Thank you Keith! I don't own many caps - I tend to find one I like and wear it and wear it. It's weird getting used to a new one! I'm expecting a cap from Sterkowski any day now so I'll post that too when I get it.
Also - those specs you are wearing in the last pic you posted - are they vintage?
Hello Gents!
Stuffsmith - that cap is certainly unique! I like it! There's some great specimens on here.

And now three that my Grandad has given me, all I assume from the 1950s. The middle one he gave me a while ago, the other two just recently when my Mamma made him clear out a load of his old ties :) Haha!
An unlabelled one on the left, the middle just states 'Guaranteed Scottish, Hand Woven...
Here are the different labels of Munrospuns - from early to late. Let me know if you have any variants to these!
Not confident on the last two. I've found them interchangeably on modern and more traditional styles of tie.
Thanks!
As per TT's request, here are the full variants on Klipper's labels. I'd say the 'Empire' ones are the earliest, but really with Klippers their era is pretty obvious from their shape! They go from really wide kite to simple and narrow for the 60s.
Here are some more of my Klippers - I'm...
