There can't be many companies with that many patterns? Makes me wonder about the size of their pattern design team.
It'd be good to take a trip up to their archive - I wonder if they hold their original samples etc. It would be a unique experience! We should organise a FL day-trip out.
Thanks TT. It's funny really to say how many patterns they had, but obviously they must have had some best-sellers that they continued to reproduce in different colours etc. I've really enjoyed wearing those three plain neckband cravats over the last couple of days. I forgot how much I like...
I shall thanks! It's wearable if I have a waistcoat or pullover on but as you say it's definitely worth soaking it rather than leaving it as it is!

Dh66 - Mad dogs and Englishmen you know...;)
I am a big fan of rayon really. It's just as nice as silk in many cases but more durable.

If you've got stuff to swap then that could work - go over to the tie swap thread. Otherwise you'll have to get posting so we can PM. I think you have to make 50 posts.

I've given it a go this morning and it has improved it! But it is still there. Maybe a couple more times will do it. Thanks for the advice.

Looking great! I know it can get very warm in London this time of year and you look more than suitably dressed! And echoing Fading Fast, there is a presence associated with those type of memorials.

Yes you're right usually it isn't too obvious but I find it can be uncomfortable on the neck sometimes. Tends to make them crispy and scratchy.

Hmm that's a shame about the scarf :/ I'll give the cravat a go though. I've come across plenty of cravats (more than ties really) that someone has pressed the merry-hell out of!
That's when my folks were there! It appears to me like the 1980s was its heyday, when they were expanding to include all manner of labels as well as still producing the wool and cotton blend that made them so famous (but which has all but disappeared now).
Thanks! I've struggled to date it. I know corduroy jackets had their revival in the 1970s, so I've had to assume that it is from then, because it holds no 1960s features really. I mean, I guess it could be older, but that label suggests to me that it isn't. I don't know when viscose came about...
Interesting! When was that then? It was a big local employer, and provided skilled job opportunities, but has gone the way of so many companies now. :(
Mind you, what I miss the most is the factory shop! So many nice items at dirt-cheap! I remember I bought about five or six silk scarves, all...
I shall try that tomorrow thanks! I only used cold water for the sake of not damaging it. Are we talking quite hot or lukewarm?
Oh you know me, always at the coal-face ;) Haha!
