I came across this company a while ago. Their stuff looks pretty good, although there are a few details I'm not a fan of (belt loops etc. and I'm not sure about the trouser rise) and the price isn't too bad. Has anyone had one of their suits before? I've emailed...
I prefer these to the flash ones to be honest. Despite having bells and whistles on them compared to normal suits, they still give across a solid utilitarianism, rather than being ostentatious.
Was it the style to have peaked lapels on western suits, or is that just because of their era? For...
That is the thing I love! I pretty much still live in a small town stuck in the past anyway ;) I'll make it anyway and put some on there. Even if it is just us three looking at it, it could be interesting. You never know who might turn up though, as you say!
I can imagine they don't tie too well! I have (or did have) a velvet tie likely from the 1970s. It was pretty huge, and was the most difficult thing I've ever tied. It took such an effort to pull the knot down, and when it was, it was that warped and wrinkled that it wasn't worth it!
The...
I like that! What's the date? Those lapels look 1930s, but I don't know that the rest does. What are the trouser hems like?
I'd love to wear something of that sort, but I feel it'd be out of place in the East Midlands of England!
Interesting.
Some lovely ones there. I was going to ask whether a leather tie 'ties' well - but I can see it's a clip. I've always avoided leather ties, partly because they are usually from a later era, and secondly because I just find them a little weird! I've only got one - my cousin gave it...
Thanks Dinerman. It's the first union label I've ever come across in my own ties. Are they as common on ties as they are on other garments? We don't really have an equivalent over here.
The pattern is odd really. Not sure what it's meant to be.

Yes I must admit I forgot myself! I'll post some stuff to it later or tomorrow (if I can find it among the threads!). I might make one for Terylene ties too. Would that me of interest d'you reckon?

Hear hear! The Tootal thread is exactly that, and so was the Munrospun/Wool ties I set up (which I'm definitely going to revive). I post to this one for a catch-all showcase.

Well then can you help me out with the 'Hub' tie I posted last? It has a union label which I know little-to-nothing about. I'd reckon the tie was perhaps later in the era due to its width but the design is still pretty distinct. Late fifties maybe?

I've never been more convinced that I need splinterless toilet paper. What next? Non-shatter toilet seats? Non-exploding soap? Bleach-free toothpaste!? You Americans have it all :p

It could be fun! Turn up on the museum doorstep wearing as many Tootal products as possible. Swaddled from head-to-foot in rayon accoutrements, twenty ties around our necks as we make pilgrimage to the promised land.
