NewJack, any hat with a Cavanagh edge or "felted edge" is also a good get as it isn't being done anymore. To the non-hat person it may look like a sewn overwelt at a glance but it is actually something much more special. -

Great hat, NewJack! If I recall from BradBowers with that type of tag and no block "height" indicated means it's 60's. Doesn't take away from this beauty! Cavanagh quality can't be beat! -

Thanks Ignatz, I think the reason it was a reject was that it got the wrong Sweatband. Yes it's a Stetson Twenty but not an Open Road -

Me too, my friend. I don't own a hat I don't wear rain or shine. I bought a hat from timethiescloset once when he had a 50% off sale. Got this Stetson Twenty from him a while back. At $400 I wasn't buying it. At $200 I was in. Be ready to act fast! -

I think if you're not willing to shell out $200-500 for the more sought after size 7 1/2 vintage hats you'd best get used to disappointment. You can certainly get lucky once in a while, it's happened to me a few times but it's getting more rare all the time. There is just a lot of competition... -

Moon, one of the biggest problems you (and I) have is you are also competing with at least five other members here for those few 7 1/2's that come along and two 7 3/8's that like to buy up a size and at least one 7 5/8 who buys down a size in thin ribbon hats and that's just the folks I know of... -
