Dillinger Days at work by myself

Dillinger Days at work by myself

Well I've become a worry to my employer (of only 14 weeks) by showing up like this today in commiseration of John Dillinger's death 75 years ago outside the Biograph Theater in Chicago: I don't know what they are worried about it. . . . . except maybe that tie? John

What era does this suit convey to the forum?

I wanted the members of this forum to look at this suit without knowing anything about it in order to determine if it looked "older" based purely on what they saw in the photos. Time for me to come-clean, as they say. Here's what I knew about the suit but held back. I still haven't...

    Zootshooting

Interesting new hobby/sport - and not any more silly than the game of golf IMHO. It will be interesting to see how it evolves. The cowboy action folks started out small and what's their membership now - close to 100,000? John

What era does this suit convey to the forum?

I'm trying to learn about the characteristcs that identify a suit for various eras. I purchased this suit recently but haven't received it yet and I'm looking at the photos wondering if I made a mistake (I know, it's kind of late now). What era does this suit "say" to the membership? Thanks!

Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

munchausen, Thanks for the reply. I can't justify the cost either. If my wife finds out how much I paid, then I'll be limping around wearing this hat. John

Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

I paid way too much for this one because a sniper came in at the end and price jumped about $55. But, I had to have it and we all know how that goes. Sold by S.L. Bird & Sons, Detroit. Anybody got an idea about the age? I was thinking 1940s? I've been looking for a hat in a rarer color...

Brown or burgundy shoes with gray suit - how dark?

I'm intrigued by the wearing of brown/burgundy shoes with gray suits - I think I saw some of this in Public Enemies. My question is how dark a gray can you go? If someone has an example photo of this then I would love to see it? Here is a pretty dark gray pair of pants with oxblood? shoes...

anon', all it takes is money and luck - they are out there. These commercial models are a little bit less expensive than the military ones. up196, I'm ashamed to admit that I thought that 1911A1 and Government Model were basically the same thing? The pistol has "Government Model"...

    Show us your Guns!

DG - it shoots better than I can even with iron sights. I also got this little jewel today as part of my constant quest to stimulate the economy singlehandedly - prewar Colt 1911 a1 made in 1925 - more of a shooter than collectable as it's only in about 80 percent condition. If a gun has a...

Doublegun, I can't afford a G&H but I own a sweet little no-name custom built on a 1903: It has a Greener safety: Unfortunately, I don't own the scope that was on it at one time. I love it. John

    Public Enemies

I like Mr. Bale in Batman because he is large enough physically to look like he could take on the bad guys. Michael Keaton, George Clooney??? Are you kidding me? But the mumbling doe get old in PE. These guys are romanticized in films like PE but we should remember they were, for the most...
