Thanks! I couldn't figure out why I was getting super poofy hair until I switched brushes, so I figured it might help someone else.
Thanks, LelaViavonie!
Today I'm wearing a dress from Torrid from a couple years back, a sweater from Target, necklace from Target, bracelet and earrings made from vintage typewriter keys, and shoes by Madeline Stewart.
Here it all is:
Inspired by Laura Chase's post I thought I'd show you all my set and the difference between what my 2 brushes do. I use foam rollers on the front because I find it really hard to do the pin curls that stand up, the rest are traditional pin curls. So here's my set:
Here's what it looks like...
Ok here's my hair today, I love it, I did a dry set with setting lotion and lots and lots of pin curls. It turned out so great. You can't really tell but the front is in 2 big curls on the left side and 1 on the right.
I have a question regarding this too, I'd love to set my hair once maybe twice a week and use the satin caps and such, but I work out almost every night. Can I wear a set 2 days in a row if I sweat or will the hair be too dirty and smell? I have no clue as I've never gone without a full shower...
This is my hair today, I decided like 2 hours before I needed to leave for work to set it in foam rollers, so it's not the best. I'm not really in love with the bottom, but the top came out beautifully. I'm including 2 pics because I was bored this morning when I got into work.
I wanted to mention something else. I work in an office that is predominately women and I am the youngest by about 15 years. I think there are more double standards than just the male-female ones. There are quite a few well endowed women in this office and if they show a little cleavage it's...
Ok, I have to post on this subject. I have really large breasts and a super small frame (though I'm overweight) so the top of my breasts is only about 2 and a half inches from my collar bone and my breasts sit very close together. No matter what I wear my breasts are very present. I've found...
Ah ha, genius, I was worried about the wispy bits and put off making a snood for this reason. Of course hair net (slaps forehead with hand). Off to the beauty supply!
I've got to get together some pictures for you all of my favorites, I inherited a bunch from one of my aunts when she passed and a bunch from my gran when she moved. I'm going to be going shopping next weekend for some more as I need a bunch for my bouquet and my bridesmaid's bouquets for my...
My resolutions relating to beauty this year are:
1. Talk more positively to myself
2. Do my hair at least 5 days a week
3. Learn to do vintage styles
4. Wear make-up at least 3 days a week
5. Work out 4 days a week to feel better
I'm thinking of using that dress pattern for my wedding dress, it's a more casual afternoon wedding outside. I'm thinking of a silk shantung, but I think anything that has a bit of a medium hand would be good for that dress to give it the right drape.
Thank you so much for this site! I just got engaged and am going to be on the look out for patterns as I plan to make my dress and possibly the dresses of my bridesmaids.
Vintage Knitting Patterns...For Free!
Have you all seen this link? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/fashion/main.jhtml?xml=/fashion/2008/08/31/st_vintageknitwear.xml
It's 5 free vintage patterns, 4 garments and one scarf. Super cute if you're a knitter, knit in a rather small gauge though, but...
The shoes are from Target, but I ordered them from Amazon as my Target didn't have them in stock. I love them they are remarkably comfy, who would have thought?
