I was at Sprouts (local health food store) yesterday in pin striped capris, a nice black blouse, a black beaded cardigan, heels and nice jewelry. I was checking out and the lady at the check stand told me that I have an awesome style and should keep it up! I love that! That's why I always...
Actually it matched my hair really well, I also had a lipstick that matched that color. Now my hair is black though, had to go easy on it, it was starting to crack off.
Ok, I've gotten through all 150 pages of this thread, you gals are amazing! Ok now I have to post some of the things I've made!
First is a quilt I'm working on it's log cabin style and then will have a border when I get finished:
Next is some yarn I spun, it's Corridale plied with cotton...
Etsy Seller with great selection
Have you guys seen this seller? She has a lot of patterns in between 36" - 40" bust. I just bought a pattern from her for an adorable shitdress, factory folded, thought I'd share.
I don't know if anyone's posted this, but I feel your pain here, I've got a rather large cup size and have a hard time finding bras that fit, let alone have a vintage feel. I found Cameo Intimates and they will custom size for you, and in some bras they carry up to an H cup. Hope this helps you.
Jake, I agree completly. I have an amazing relationship with my parents now, but that comes from the fact that I'm 22, work for my Mom, and my parents and I respect each other. I admit there were times growing up that I couldn't stand my parents, and I thought their views on things like sex...
Ok recipies, first I'll post the one for clotted cream and then the ones for the different scones:
Clotted Cream
2 Cups heavy whipping cream
3 tbl buttermilk
1 1/2 tbl powdered sugar
1. In a glass jar, combine cream and buttermilk. Place lid on top, but don't seal, so that there is a...
I love this thread. I agree that for good table linens you should go to a thrift shop somewhere close to a retirement village. As for the food, we used to have a tea every year for Valentine's Day and make Victorian Valentines (American Girl had a kit for the doll Samantha). Anyhow, we always...
I have pretty short hair with "bettie" bangs, and I'm thinking about growing all of it out, it's really, really layered right now, and the front is way longer than the back. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what I can do while it grows out. Or a good tute for finger waves.
All the stuff in this thread is beautiful. Congrats on your wonderful sewing. I was wondering if anyone had used the Folkwear Patterns? I inhereted a couple from my Mom, and I was thinking about using them. I also have quite a few from my Gran, but I need to lose a little more weight to be...
I love knitting and I've wanted to knit a period piece forever. But I also know that it's going to be quite a time investment, so I'm waiting until I get down a couple dress sizes so that I can treasure it forever. I love the stuff on yesterknits, it's gorgous.
If you're in So Cal, Laguna Beach (south of main beach) has some great shops. My favorite is Tippie Canoe it's right off of PCH and it's got some great stuff. I've found wonderful sweaters and dresses there. But they have a little of everything. Also I would say some of the shops on the...
Whitewalls coming back would be wonderful. What I'm hoping to have come back, in fashion at least, is hats. For both men and women, I just think they add such a classy look to an outfit, not that classy seems to be something a lot of people strive for in today's fashion, but oh well.
