I made this dress from a very flowy cotton voile from Simplicity 2549. It's kind of like wearing pajamas. Super comfy, I plan on remaking this pattern, in fact going to cut it out tonight!
Shirt from Anthropologie
Skirt Homemade
Shoes from Amazon (can't remember who they're by)
I wasn't too sure about this outfit when I left home, but when I walked into my office 2 coworkers complemented me.
I love Mac Ruby Woo, I know that's been on here before, but I find it stays on all day and that it doesn't feel too "lipsticky". I'm a chapstick girl most of the time, so I don't like something that is overly glossy or mushy. I do want to try the Kat Von D stuff now though.
You guys make me feel better about wanting to wear wigs. I have short hair, I cut it off to get back to my natural, but I miss being able to style it. I decided over the weekend that I want to start wearing wigs to work and such, but I wasn't sure if I'd look too weird. Now I'm convinced...
Here are a couple of things I've finished recently:
First is Butterick 5152, I made the short sleeved version for a summer robe. I love it!
And the other is a super simple skirt, Simplicity 2614, in a woven red fabric, super comfy, I've made a couple other versions of this too...
I made a wedding dress for a friend of mine. It turned out pretty well, I'll post more pictures after the wedding in a few weeks. It's from McCall's 4490 view D. I also made the garment bag it's in.
I wear sunscreen every day of my life, I'm half Irish and half Scottish so I burn quite easily. I also wear wide brimmed hats in the summer, but I'm looking at carrying a parasol this summer, I dunno though, I worry about looking too weird walking around. I guess though my skin is worth it...
I was just browsing The Commons on Flickr and found this pic, look at the front row, saddle shoes with a suit! I love it!

Thank you for posting this. I found a pair of oxblood mary janes by Dr. Martin's at Ross for $15 so I got them, I wasn't aware that they are a vintage style. I'm always looking for vintage styled casual shoes, nice to know I have a pair! I also really want a pair of saddle shoes, but I'll...
When I was cleaning houses part time I found that my hands got really damaged from the chemicals and soaps. I've since developed a chemical sensitivity so I no longer use chemicals in my home, but I was my hands often as we have people in and out of our office all the time and I find if I apply...
In an effort to stick to my weight loss goals, my prize for my self is new shoes every 10 lbs, I'm thinking most of those are going to end up being re-mix shoes, they seem like shoes I could wear everyday! And they come in great colors.
