    The Dobbs Diner...

I was referring to Steveschurman's listing (I'd say my cover was blown, but if other Loungers are interested, I don't stand a chance). The hat appeared late 40's to me, so I believed the description, but if someone can refute that, I'd rather not bid.

Funny thing, I usually prefer single breasted, three button configuration when it comes to tweed jackets. Either config. could work, no one is gonna guffaw at what style the jacket is. In a world where a tiny margin of people dress with these accouterments daily, you have a lot of leeway to do...

I typically don't care for plaid ties, but these colors are great.

    The Dobbs Diner...

I used the FL Dobbs dating thread. The details pointed to the hat being late 40s. The text on the sweatband is a sign, but maybe it extends to early 50s. Youre talking about a listing for a chocolate brown Dobbs, yes?

Can a vintage car still be driven as a daily driver?

DAMN, would love to take that Ford for a spin! Seems like the scarcity of people specialized in older cars will force me to do some of the handiwork. That's fine. What I don't understand is the myriad of people that tell me I should opt for some $5,000 project car from the 60's, and just do my...

    The Dobbs Diner...

Currently watching a late 40's Dobbs Game Bird, on eBay. I've seen posts about this on the Lounge--Can anyone vouch for the quality of the Game Bird hats of this era? I have heard good things about Dobbs hats generally.

Welcome to the Lounge, Necktie Guy! I love this bold look tie of yours, and hope to see more from your collection. I myself am also a sucker for snagging vintage ties--They're normally cheap and the patterns and colors are damn near limitless. If you look at previous replies on this thread...

    h-e-l-p. Palm beach linen suit..

Why can't someone wear a PB suit regularly on summer days? Seems like if the suit were well taken care of, it would be a prosperous investment, as the value of the suit would assuredly increase?

    h-e-l-p. Palm beach linen suit..

Heh, probably over $500, for your criteria. Affordable PB suits are a thing of the past. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F283017753546 This guy won this suit in an auction for roughly $430, got burn stains on the lapels (which he claims can be...

Cool outfit. What's the suit made of, it looks quite breathable?

    Boater faction!

Thanks, Mayserwegener. I was impressed by how clean and smart the hat looked for its age. Hopefully, this can double as a hat for both casual and formal summer events!

    WTB: Vintage (pre-1950) fedora sizes 6 7/8 - 7

I'm afraid I'm missing the symbolism on this one. Interesting hat, at a decent price. Is the felt pliable? Is that the original color of the liner or is it due for a hard cleaning? What are the dimensions of the inside (long ways and short ways)? Thanks. Whew-wee! I've already expressed this...
