Very nice leather coat/jacket, BK! :eusa_clap
Too bad about the missing buttons. Any chance of finding period replacements?
My jacket was presented here not too long ago. I'm also missing the belt buckle on mine  Must have been collectors items.
I wish I knew what mine...
Ahem... err... *scratches his head and blushes* Well, the jacket arrived but unfortunetley it didn't look anything like an A-2 when it put it on. :o Problem is that the jacket is one of those tight 1970's, soft leather things that just look awful on a body like mine.
I decided to hang it in...
Jay: Yes, you are right of course. Masculine or feminine - It all comes down to if they fit the face they are placed upon.
Love to see a snap of the ones you are talking about. :)

Thanks Dinerman.
I'm normaly not drawn to the "aviator" style type of sunglasses, but these had that "something" about them that I liked. Well, I have to just wait and see what they look like on... if they are too feminine maybe my wife like them. :)
I have my eyes on these (no pun intended) - said to be "late 40's, American":
However, they look a bit feminine in style to me...??? Are they?

Well Fletch, I skipped MANY favourite aircraft on that list. Some, because they where already mentioned in detail here on the forum, and others, because... well, it just wouldn't be interesting to the crowd to hear about my fetiches. :D
The P-35A, that we used in Sweden (slightly longer...
Uncle Vern, I assure you I did not mean any disrespect. Posting that banner only shows how little I know about Bowlers. :o
Sorry about that. I will remove it.

As I've posted before (but not had reason to try myself yet). An old household recipy for removing sweat stains on fabric is using diluted vinegar.
Worth a try? [huh]

Just to be clear about this: My father wasn't a pilot on the Beechcraft. He was a mechanic.
The Beechcraft 18R was used as an air ambulance in Sweden (we called it Tp 4). It was a joint venture between the Swedish Air Force and the Red Cross. My father did his military service 1946-47...
Correct. My initial plan was to find a ribbon in two colors but three "fields" (1:2:1) that matched the original ribbon. I didn't find one so I picked up the silver one instead. But the plan was always to add one ribbon ontop of the existing one.

No, it's the other way around... Here people are wearing down-/gortex jackets made for expeditions to Mount Everest even if it's just a little bit nippy. I'll save garments like that for days when it REALLY gets cold, ie: 25-30 below zero. (talking centigrades here...)

Tom: No problem. I just wanted to emphasise that this really was my first venture into this area to explain the less-then-perfect finish of my work. Not to milk the crowd for positive comments. Things would be sooo much simpler if we all could use our native tongue. :)
I have worked with...
Go for it, Hamlet! :D You can always change it back if you're not happy.
I hope we will see loads of customizations here on FL during the next couple of weeks. ;)
