That´s quite a naive thought :) Eastern europe is just like rest of the world - hatless.
Even in big cities, there are nearly no places to buy a quiality hat, not to mention have one done. The situation is so alarming that I´ve already thought of starting such a bussiness. Who wouldn´t like to...
I guess I explained it wrong. I was talking about the trimmings we can see on some designer clothes today, or whatever (I don´t have a clue, I just know that it really annoys me on the modern clothes). There´s nothing bad about them on vintage clothes!
I have to promote one czech movie nominated for Oscar - Dark Blue World (about czech pilots in RAF during the WWII, I think it has a very strong story)
VintageBetty - You are right... This board gives me so huge knowledge base that all my friends and relatives are getting quite annoyed by the things I learned here. Pictures from Apparel Arts and old catalogues offer an invaluable help when thinking what to buy next and what to wear.
And as a...
That´s me... Something free is the key to my heart lol
I´ve already made an extesive google search and I found absolutely nothing... Not this book, nor any other book about men´s clothing. It´s actually a bit sad, I can find hudreds of gigabytes of pornography in a few seconds, but not even...
VintageBetty - I almost wanted to write how I love you, but then I noticed that the link is just for some library list.... Ebook is what we all need :)
It´s amazing that my aunt (Prince George, B.C.) says absolutely the same! They emigrated from Czechoslovakia to Quebec, where they could live in...eh.... more civilised way and now, when they moved to Prince George... She told me that the most civilised man in the neighbourhood collects guns and...
Cell phone and wallet goes to the breast pockets of the jacket, keys and MP3 player goes to trousers, whatever they are. Who needs to carry more stuff?
Can you imagine Hercule Poirot (I mean the D. Suchet´s version from the TV series) without his homburg? They are beatiful and extremely stylish, but fedoras go first for me..
Wonderful pins! Especially the Zeppelin one :)
I´d like to get me some, but I can´t recognise which they are. How are these pins attached to the ribbon? I´d appreciate a photo of the back. Thanks
Don´t tell me, I know that, but I know some people who don´t and that´s very sad. I´ve met a guy, on a formal occasion, who confessed to having his suit borrowed, because he had none. Not because he was poor, just because he thought has no use for it. I wonder how can one live without having a...
As for the ladie´s clothing:
- Flip-flops (they were practical and very cheap shoes for beach until the designers turned them to the thing we see now)
- Cropped jeans (I hope that´s the word, I mean the short ones which end by the half of the shank)
- The shining things attached to clothes...
This is the only thing between me and the jungle outside :) This board keeps me civilized and I thank you all!
This is the most polite board on the whole internet, I guess... And full of very interesting information.
